Ask for a payment plan. If you have good credit they are usually good about offering you one.

$250 isn't that much money if you are wise about your finances. You can fight it off in court but few people that take it upon them selves often end up loosing. You should find a lawyer specializing in speeding tickets.

Good lord 30 mph over the speed limit. Just suck up and pay it. Reckless drivers are the ones causing all the accidents. On longer car drives use cruise control to assist in keeping speed limit of the car. If you're doing 25 mph or more you can use it. This has saved my rear over the years from getting tickets. Unless you have smart sensor technology I would not advise using it in rush hour due to all the stop and go.

If there's snow, it can slide.

Also, you can get to the Snow Lake Divide other ways than the summer trail.

ETA: I thought this was a backcountry sub-reddit. When I said other ways, I meant other routes than the summer trail. The usually backcountry route starts from the upper Alpental lot and heads along the west side of the creek to Source Lake. To get to the Divide, you switchback through the trees from there.
