I actually highly disagree with this. In many natural areas, the concentration of hikers on one line has created a path that may never heal, even in centuries. However, when people spread out and make little individual impact, the effect is negligible as plant life is meant to support the weight of wildlife.
The only time people ever complain about going off path damaging the landscape is when people create another path.

Maybe this is why I see so many shopping carts in the liquor area/aisle full of random mixes of liquor? Often, the bottles in there are covered in dust, as if they've been around for years...

Washingtonian turned Oregonian here. I second the Ninkasi lager but also put forth, for your consideration, Rogue’s 2022 Santa’s Reserve. For the discerning connoi-brew-sseur looking for a stoutier more potent libation. Had it two days ago. It decidedly does not make one wish for a burger, but in a good way.

When I drove past, there was a cloud that was sucking up the steam. Looked beautiful, but my family didn’t want to stop for pictures.
