This is one of those trippy views of strange clouds over Mount Rainier, where for a second you wonder if the volcano is finally erupting!

One of the quincy lakes I’m guessing. There’s a couple out there and if I had to guess I’d say they were talking about Burke lake. It’s not the only lake that freezes out there but it’s one of the better ones

I grew up in the San Juans and I know it’s pricey. I have also lived in Anacortes, Bellingham, Snohomish, King and Pierce county. Arlington, Sumner, Blaine, Oak Harbor would all be on my list if I were you. But I also hope you make it work on the island. I miss living there.

Look at the Tri-Cities. 3 rivers run through it, the Yakima river, The Snake river and the mighty Columbia. The Blue mountains are a short drive away for camping and snow fun in the winter. Great wineries here if you're into that. The annual unlimited hydroplane races and air show are pretty sweet too. I have been all over the world in my life and always end up back here.

What kind of work will you be looking for? There are a couple of counties on the west side which are pretty affordable.

Federal Way is more affordable and central to a lot of jobs. Ignore all the cracks about the crime. It’s not that bad.

Is there a reason that Skagit or Whatcom counties aren't at the top of your list?

Any particular business sector you'll be looking for employment in? Can one of you get a government, university, or refinery job with decent benefits to give the other some flexibility? Have either of you considered a skilled trades apprenticeship or some other education to get a credential leading to better employment prospects?

Yeah, I went outside about 2 pm to dump out the bird bath & flip it over for winter, and this big chunk of ice fell out, lol! My poor solar-powered pump was frozen in it, so now it’s in the dish drainer slowly melting…

Bounce to the east side of the state to Spokane. Life's a bit slower on this side. Much more affordable, still have access to a city. Can hit one of the smaller outlying towns and still have good access.

Also, sunnier days! And you get snow ❄️ if you're bout to have a little one, they'll love the snow.
