I feel bad for you. Washington ESD is the most worthless organization ever. My wife was absolutely ripped off for over $6,000 during the Covid saga. She has a legitimate claim that they gave her the endless runaround on after she had submitted all requested information a NUMBER of times. Whistle blowers inside ESD have come forward telling that they were trained in tactics to frustrate and confuse the client hopefully resulting in non payment of the claim. If you dig the documentation on what I say is a matter of record. I feel bad for you and hope you prevail. Good luck.

Wouldn't it be easier to just get a job. Everyone is hiring.

Have good snow tires. I recommended triple peak rated. Carry chains. Sometimes they are required for the areas you are talking about going. Practice putting the chains on before you go somewhere you might need them. Snow here is different because it’s wet due to general warmer temperatures in the transition areas so it can be very slick. Otherwise same as anywhere else when you get into the mountains. AWD is recommended but not required, but, when chains are required, AWD vehicles are typically exempt from it except in extreme conditions.

The upside of assistantships is you are on campus, you get to be more immersed in your program and most likely get your degree in less time.

Have you considered a lovely stroll through a sprawling junkie encampment? ;-)

They’re dumping sand on the road

Not only the engine, but the weight of the massive plow.

If you get the paid benefits in 2022 that’s taxable income for 2022. Did you ask them to withhold taxes from your benefits by any chance? If so, no worries!

They also store the truck bed up to drain rain water. Gravity media distribution when coming down the pass if they don't have a spreader.

What did they say when you contacted them to ask?
Edit: you say you faxed and mailed the logs. That's not how you file a claim. I've never even heard of anyone doing so physically and not through the website. Have you actually filed any weekly claims, and if so what was the response.
Between this odd phrasing and omission of mentioning the claims themselves or their status, and your post history in which it sounds like you have a long history of things going haywire when you have to interact with processes, I respectfully have to wonder whether you've actually followed the process to submit claims
If you have and followed instructions, the ESD should have been able to tell you exactly what the issue is and how to get bqck on track, since they usually process that stuff in a week or less, not 6 months.
There's a LOT missimn from this story.

>to get more weight on the rear tires as the front is already weighed down by the engine
That is my thought. Trucks of all kinds are front heavy only. Downhill in icy conditions is especially dangerous.

Vancouver, WA is pretty nice, much cheaper than Seattle but it's a solid city. $400k is cutting it close but you can definitely get a good 3 bedroom house with that budget. It's a super central location. Lots of good hikes within an hour drive, even 30 mins if you're not picky. It's right across from Portland if being a foodie is important to you. It's 2 hours to the coast, Bend, Hood River, Mt. Hood. If you're buying a house I'm not aware of any HOA that has a breed restriction. Some apartments do restrict but there's plenty that will allow german shepherds. I've got a few neighborhood guides on my website if you want to know more about it or feel free to message me.

You're describing a lot of WA state. Lots of <400k homes outside the major metros that are close to outdoor stuff. Can have a dog in any of them - it's your house. Just open realtor.com and start searching.

How remote are you willing to go?
This place in Gold Bar looks great. I'm not sure what I'd do with the barn, but the price is sure right.

Join the WSDOT Facebook page and ask that question. They are generally pretty responsive.

If you own a home, it's your home and no one is going to stop you having a dog. I guess you could find a shitty Hoa but usually that's a condo thing.
A house for 400k is really hard and won't have extra rooms. 400k is like peanuts unless you're really in the booneys
