I 100% agree. I know my comment might make it sounds like I’m against these kind of ideas, but I’m actually all for it. It just has to be right or it’ll just cause more problems later on.

Going off this comment, and tied to the comment I posted outside of this, one of the most important things for these shelters (which need to be permanent is) is having social workers on sight.

If people are causing problems, doing drugs (depending on the community structure), and not following rules, they get removed from the housing for someone else to have an opportunity.

Not every homeless person is going to be a good person. The same way not every middle class, tax paying, hard working citizen is going to be a good person. People are excellent at self preservation and understanding consequences, so if they know they'll lose their shelter and security, it's easier to dissuade people from being shit bags when they know they have expectations.

It's a shame the city is half assing this. We gave them the blue print in how to make this work, which research and evidence.

I was working with a group that was going to create a tiny home community for the chronically homeless. We pursued this because all over the country there is undeniable evidence that these communities improve the problem with homeless people for multiple reasons.

The city was with us. We had people who were willing to make the houses. We had an area.

Right before we got to pull the trigger the city pulled out. It was a fucking shame, and very disheartening knowing that until someone with political power in city has a kid who is homeless, even evidence and support isn't enough to get the homeless problem fixed.

pomodoros on lincoln is good but sometimes goes too heavy on the cheese for me.

all systems go on shrewsbury st does a very decent thin style brick oven pie with nice pep cups. there's not much to the pizzas, though but they are well priced.

my vote for best bar pizza goes to brew city.

i haven't found any decent detroit style in the city but detroit pizza works in northboro is owned by unos and is unfortunately the only detroit pie i can get delivered. it's decent enough to satisfy a basic craving for detroit style.

dinos used to have good pizza but not so much nowadays. same with ciao bella.

for 7 am pizza for the night shift family table is where to go. can get decent burgers and steak and cheese, also, but these shine best before the competition opens if you know what i mean. still a lot better than the shitty dime a dozen greek style pizzarias all serving identical tasting menus.

i was thrilled to see auntie dots for once. place looks closed down but if you get there when they're open it's just like nani's. sicilian style.

I don’t think you’re giving Worcester credit. I grew up in Waltham so I still yearn for what I grew up with but since I’ve moved here I’ve had several pizzas that scratch the itch.

I think they, you, and I are aligned that the same places seem to always get mentioned. Have to say that Brattle Stop in this thread is a new one on me, despite having grown up a 3 minute car ride from there.

I read these threads because I am always looking for new (to me) places to try. For this pizza thread, I myself don't have anything to add other than the Wonder Bar above.

I guess the hope is that someone who isn't commenting might be encouraged to, even if their contribution isn't "mainstream".

I have. Tolerable, but it's not close enough to me (as in distance) that it's not worth more to improve my bagel making skills and have something that's equally good.

I've enjoyed everything I've had from them, but the amount of attention they get you'd think they're running deals like "buy one large cheese pizza, get one more day with a deceased loved one."

Anyway, there is actually good pizza in Worcester. Volturno is legit Neapolitan style (Olo is also supposed to be good but I've somehow never been), and Birch Tree is a gem.

I mean yeah there's a depth to the frustration, but it adds nothing to conversation. I tend to agree that the same questions get asked and there's little variation in responses, but if you're going to complain that only trendy restaurants are mentioned.....add to the discussion.

I've lived here 30+ years and I still read through the responses to see if I'm missing out on anything as I haven't been everywhere, and a ton of places have changed owners multiple times while keeping the same name.

Two different buildings. You have the correct address for Crown Castle which is across from City Hall. OP is talking about the gargantuan eyesore at approximately 175 Main across from Armsby Abbey.

Crown Castle has all of what was considered Lightower, Sidera, and N-Star in the area. They are one of the few carriers you can get dark fiber from.

The Bagel Inn in holden and Bagel time is great.

That building is mostly vacant. All their switchgear takes up very little space compared to what it must have been in the Long Lines heyday.

They have some suites in there. An employer I had ages ago had an 15454 in there because we picked up an OC-12 there. One rack in a room that easily could have held a dozen.

It’s not marketed or advertised, obviously. The CC Pop at 474 is really all there is in the city. There are a few carriers there, but all the serious stuff is in Markley Boston.

Steve’s Pizza in West Boylston. It’s right off I-190. It’s been a while but it was great in the 20th Century. I think my brother still goes there. I honestly don’t know why it’s so hard to make a great pizza in MA, but 90% fail.
