Hard to think of neighborhoods in Worcester that combine "decent" and "fun". Others have mentioned West Side/Tatnuck as a nice area, but it's suuuuuper boring over here. We do have nice access to trails, lots of dogs in the area, and it's easy to hop on the road out of town towards Western Mass. But on the West Side you'll be leaning heavily on the "relatively" part of "relatively fun".

Would you mind offering a hint at which Facebook group(s)? Even a PM would be appreciated. I'm in district and haven't heard much but I feel like a lot of discussions happen in Facebook groups which I don't know about.
I've always heard similar things as what /u/legalpretzel mentioned. Princeton and Paxton voting against increases/overrides.

Move to the West Side of the city west of park ave. Look near Worcester State. Elm Park area is pretty good too. North side is safe but not great

Fwiw, you can get to any number of nice trails within 20 minutes of anywhere in the city.

Checkout Quin 35, it's near Whole foods, Trader Joe's and multiple other name brand stores. It's not so far away from restaurants on Shrewsbury Street and Plantation street.

Avoid Main South (south of Chandler from Park to 290) Avoid Great Brook Valley (housing project on corner of NE cutoff and MA-70, most dangerous part of town).
NW / Tatnuk has the most nature to walk a dog in. As does Lake Park/Lakeview area.
There are lots of dogs downtown but that seems like a horrible idea.

One thing I will say about our city, finding these hidden gems really is damn cool.

I think it's the artist's signature? OG Slick is known for his LA Hands, which look like Disney hands.

I worked there in the early `90’s when it was called Clubland. I started as a bar back and ended up working the doorman and then assistant manager.

Actually there will be more like 1500 objects on exhibit in the new gallery. It will also feature an open storage area, so you will finally see what was “behind the scenes”. It is being designed by people who worked at Higgins, so it is in good hands.

Thank the gods, thought it was going away for the next twenty years with the political drama about it.

Also adding that they aren’t a professional by any means but if you are willing to trust the word of an internet stranger I can confidently say they are very clean and thorough about it all.

Long gone are the days of a random cab showing up at your school and driving you all over the city to random places in the middle of the school day. Never even gave a second thought to jumping in that cab. Highlights of 5th and 6th grades (6th grade was rocketry and space at the New England science center) for sure

I live in the Elm Park area right below WPI and love it, everything is within walking distance. Haven't made a grocery list in years because there's a supermarket a couple blocks away.
