Try Princeton places apartments - near shrewsbury st but also property managed so they handle the snow removal etc, in addition to being close to shopping

>Quinsigamond village.
I mean it looks like a university town, and I don't want to live right next to students.

People in most of Connecticut and in that area of Putnam in general remind me of southern Californians. More of a "In the middle of Nowhere" type place even though it isn't exactly that.
They break the New Englander law of "We are assholes but we will help you" and follow the "We will be nice but leave you to your doom" type.

Good to know! Definitely don't want the noise. Do you know of more residential areas near Shrewsbury?

The college students here are surprisingly more tame and reasonable compared to ones in regular big cities for whatever reason.

I always park towards the Spirits side, usually less parking

Add 15 minutes to find a parking spot and walk in, but worth it! Seriously that place is always packed!!!

Honestly, everywhere in Worcester is going to have students. We are a huge city, with lots of colleges spread out across all corners. And students also tend to like the amenities you desire.
Shrewsbury Street is closest to the medical school though, so most will be older students more likely to be studying than partying if it’s noise/ambiance you’re worried about.

I’ve heard that living on Shrewsbury street in the summer is a drag- literally. People drag race and it is very loud during the warmer months.

Thank you! This area does sound really nice! Do most students live there since it's close to several universities?

There’s a food truck and craft beer festival June 10th. I’d rather just go to that and not get charged an admission fee

Reply to comment by WorcesterMom in Shortfall projected in Worcester Public Schools budget for upcoming year by HRJafael
As WPS budget watchers will know, we've illustrated for years how incredibly underfunded our central administration is. For the current year's budget, you can find it here: https://worcesterschools.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/FY23-Recommended-Budget-Worcester-Public-Schools.pdf#page=402

I'd also note that we have long since committed to a policy that no more than 1.5% of the district foundation budget will be spent on administration; it's written straight into our district policy.

Do you have to live specifically in Putnam? Can you get to Mass in let’s say Webster and still get a decent house and shave off 20 minutes? Also property taxes are slightly cheaper in MA

Moved from that area to Worcester and much happier here. People are much nicer in Worcester. Northeast CT is very Trumpy, full of swamp Yankees.

I’d say the best neighborhood for young professionals would be the area around Elm Park. There’s lots of WPI students that live in that area
