To quote the movie ‘Love Actually’ “What could be worse than the agony of being in love?”

The point of the hell was for the person to learn something in order to move on. If there was nothing to be learned from being skinned alive, then it wouldn't happen to you. As far as I understood it.

my eyes closed and opened again to see everything including the asshole who tried to rob me with his gun stopped. I know I shouldn't take this route as a shortcut. His teeth are so yellow , didn't this guy hear about toothbrushes?
what is that
i murmured inside my mind moving focusing towards his empty gun
And my eyes became shocked when i saw the bullet began to leave the barrel of his gun
sonofabitch had filled his gun and fired it at me.
Well, Fuckkk
I shouted inside my head, that would be like a mashed potato if I didn't think of something shit.
think think i murmured inside my head again not able to think of something remembering how i was thought this day is my lucky day or that's how i convinced my self before this guy showed up in it, the way he stuttered and his weak fiscal expression had made me sure that he will never shout a bullet or never hold loaded one in the first place. I thought i will never be wrong with my ability to analyze people or things when the time frozen or slowed down to less than second's. i didn't had this since birth i wish i had i could turn my life upside down from now, my nickname was jack the golden tongue that's my what some called me since i had it because i was able to convince people anything sell anything when any bet
of course i wasn't always my real name is Jackson Charlie born a family of shitty parents who obsessed of my little sister we was only two that they have and they couldn't even love the two of us together, must been one who the think him as mistake failure doesn't deserve anything from them this how i felt from there treatment until i left when i was 18 dropped high school worked at small shop low salary for two years until the cheap bastard had fired me for stealing hundred pucks had cut it from my salary originally for something stupid i didn't remember.
Then i worked in small bar for three years until one night i heard people putting huge bet in football tames, and i got excited so i joined the bet and lucky me i won the bet winning a thousand dollars felling i won the lottery but one of them go couldn't handle it when was on my to my small apartment he beat the livingshit of me leaving me near death weaken in a hospital after three months i couldn't feel my body i thought i was paralyzed until i saw the frozen nurse
like a statue but I saw his face slowly plinking. The time was slowing.
I felt I was staring at her for hours.
I was able to notice her finger it looked she was wearing ring but she didn't wear any more his eyeballs looks down like it was sad her face was color less like she was still crying and having no sleep i was able to analyze people fast not people things around making me able to manipulating them easy so i left my job and going to different bar's betting in high risk winning until lucky day by that a boss in large sail's company give me his card and jack the golden tongue began from after year of working i diced to quit the work and Start company of my own but this.
Motherfucker
i shouted in my head seeing the bullet becoming closer to me i could move i was just plinking watching my death becoming closer my eyes moved staring at the bullet that looks like spaceship launched to land between my eyes a fly was on it way maybe it will change it way
shit i murmured when saw the fly becoming small part flying everywhere around the accelerating bullet i closed my eyes trying to think of something but nothing was in my mind maybe i should except it no no this not my end this not how i die i'm still fucking virgin if you didn't count the hospital nurse and some random girls in different bars no that's doesn't count!
my eyes opened to see the pullet slightly pushed i will not able to notice it but i guess i have to thank the spirit part of the dead fly to notice that i closed again trying to think of anything thing anything could be the reason for that i couldn't find a clue i opened it again to see it slightly pushed again What it could be i asked while i saw my memory of my life feeling my life is going to end soon but remembering all my life how i wanted to go home when i left. how i went after five year to watch my parents from a window celebrating my sister graduation forgetting me as the never had a second child. And a random vivid image in my mind appears , broken fan in the shop of the cheap basterd how the fan with so slow it couldn't generate air and he let it work anyway
that's it!
i murmured in my mind blinking so fast until i felt my eyelids hurting but i continue until the bullet stopped and began falling to the ground my blinking saved my life i was able to generate enough air because everything moving when the time slowed near stopping could able to generate dangerous amount of power the time got normal again
The yellow teeth baster was going to shout again but I was fast enough to prevent him and beat him up.

"Come again?" I thought I misheard her, and that maybe the blaring house music made me miss a few words.
The bartender coyly smirks at me, and the music fades out a little. "Yeah. Heaven doesn't exist, dude. The Creator 'left for cigarettes' a long time ago and nobody's been able to find Him. Real dick move, to be honest with you."
Shell-shocked, I jump to a conclusion. "So then this must be..."
"Hell? Technically speaking, yes. More lively than you were expecting?"
"Is this a Sartre situation, where we can't leave this club, and everybody is going to drive each other insane?"
"Oh, he's actually a regular here. Ms. DeBeauvoir is too. They're a hoot and a half. But no, you can leave any time you want, there's a whole city out there. You don't need to work to survive, but a lot of people eventually get a job anyway."
"B-but isn't there supposed to be punishment?"
"We don't do the whole 'incarceration' or 'torture' thing anymore. We did it to the real heinous ones, but it turns out that we didn't even need to. Most of them either end up isolating themselves with other evil fucks or making a sincere attempt to start over and do right by other people. The first one is definitely more common."
"I see."
"You don't have to worry about any of this for right now. Just have a good time here in The Four Winds, and if you want a room, we have them upstairs."
I blinked. "Wait, why would need to sleep if we're dead?"
She winked. "Who said anything about sleep, kiddo? And before you ask: You're not my type."
"You're really..."
"That Sappho, yeah. Did you think my nametag was a joke or something?"
"Well, yeah. You don't exactly look like you died millenia ago, and you don't talk like it either."
"What can I say, it's been a while since a 'lesbian' was just somebody from my hometown. Now, you want that whiskey sour or not?"

Reply to [WP] You feel your powers flood back to you as the dampeners in your cell shut off. A man in a business suit steps into it and asks a simple question. by ankh3125
[Sharp Laugh]
Ray blinked. Then, he did it again to be sure. He grinned as he filled his lungs with cool, stale air. He could feel again, finally. He had no idea how long he stared at the blank white wall in front of him; but, that was the only thing he could do until now. He was unable to twitch or even a muscle; his body was frozen in time for his sentence. However, his mind stayed awake the entire time. Ray gently tugged at the black chain wrapped around his wrist to get a feel for it. He was sure he could break it; but, his mind worked fast. He knew there was a reason why he could move again. He decided to wait and see what happened. Luckily, it did not take long for the white wall in front of him to open to the side like elevator doors.
A pale man in a white business suit and red tie stood behind the wall as it pulled away. He had neat, dark hair combed to the side and he wore an amused smirk as he eyed Ray. The moment Ray saw the red scissor logo on his breast pocket, he knew why the man was there.
"Are you ready to behave and stick to Ms. Sharp's plan?" the stranger asked a simple question. It was the only question that mattered to Ray's captors.
"How long was that?" Ray asked. He knew he was pushing his luck; but, that was an important question for him to gauge whether he could endure the punishment any longer.
"Not long, about a million years," the man shrugged.
"A million?" Ray laughed. It honestly felt like it and he wasn't eager to go through that again. "Didn't Dana already miss the window for her scheme?"
"Ray...," the suited man shook his head. "Ms. Sharp only punished you for a million years," he said as he gestured to the small white cell that kept him locked up. "That much time passed in here, but not out there," he said. "She asked me to check on you after a million years. If you're not ready yet, you're welcome to take another few billion years to think about it. Take as much time as you need," he grinned. "No matter how long it takes you to come around, you'll be out in time to do your part."
"Then, why me?" Ray asked. "She's made herself into a god, why pick on me? I'm not the only Calavera with Super speed," he added.
"Why do mosquitos exist?" the man gave an exaggerated shrug. "Everyone has a part to play. Ms. Sharp knows how the universe works; I don't," he said. "Did you ever consider that she's doing you a favor by choosing you?"
"Some favor...," Ray chuckled as he rolled his eyes and jangled the chains around his wrist.
"If you weren't so murdery, you wouldn't be in here," the man said. "And, you can leave as soon as you're ready to follow orders."
"Fine...," Ray sighed. "...I'll play ball," he said. It was only a temporary promise. He didn't have anything against Ms. Sharp personally; in fact, he almost admired her. She didn't mind if he killed the occasional person either; but, it was simply the fact that she tried to tell him what to do that chafed him the most. Ray preferred to be in charge of his own life; he wanted to live and kill how and when he wanted to. He initially thought that he could inconvenience her, if not ruin her plan, by being stubborn and refusing to participate. But, now he knew that wasn't going to work.
"Then, you're free to go, Ray," the man held up a clear glass card in front of Ray and the black chains binding his wrists and ankles dissolved into white powder.
"Ray?" the lean prisoner asked as he reached for the node. He shook his head with a chuckle. "Don't call me that, it's a stupid name," he said. He grabbed the node and held it out in front of him. "Actually, it's hilarious!"
A flash of golden light came from the node as soon as he gave his password. The wiry, old man that was chained up disappeared. In his place stood a lean, athletic, white-skinned man with long, stringy blue hair pulled back in a ponytail. A red ball sat on his nose and he wore rainbow suspenders and loose red pants with giant clown shoes.
"I prefer the name Laughtrack."

Reply to [WP] Nuclear war, alien invasion, AI uprising, zombie apocalypse, asteroid collision. Every one of these has the power to singlehandedly end humanity, but since everything is happening at the same time, we're doing ok by shingekinolinus
I had been told to "declare independence" and I would locate the "safe place", supposedly the only place humans were guaranteed safety. When the computers made the decision to declare war on humanity, they unleashed the nuclear weapons. Reports of an alien invasion was taking place in all the major cities, which triggered asteriod collisions around the globe. This all resulted in zombies (living humans zapped by too much radiation). However, there was a fifth column underground that was making use of the tunnel system to hide the survivors.
Since the location of Independence Hall was in Boston, I started there. I managed to avoid most of the disasters, and as I approached Independence Hall, I could see it had been locked down. What surprised me was that he cornerstone had been slightly altered, only noticeable by someone who had studied history. I studied it, and the last of the numbers had a small dot next to it. I pressed it, and a numbered panel appeared next to the front door.
I decided to try the only clue I had received, and entered 07-04-1776, "declaring independence". The doors opened and a ray scanned me, then a robotic voice told me to hurry inside and to sit where the forefathers sat. I immediately hurried to the famous Continental Congress Hall, and looked at each seat carefully. The John Hancock chair seemed to be higher than I remember, and as I sat down, a panel opened behind me.
My history professor came out and shook my hand, congratulating me for following his clues correctly. I quickly transferred the clues to my private email, hoping my family would be able to decode the clues. My son was even more of a history buff than I, and I was confident he would lead them to safety.
I met the former US President, and he showed me the network of tunnels on a panel. We were warned that some of them may have been compromised, especially in the Southwest. I immediately asked if I could contact someone in Santa Fe, NM. He gave me a quick briefing on the Morse code system, and I gave my family's last known location to the contacts in Santa Fe.
I was surprised when my private email showed a response, and my son had assured me that the contacts in Santa Fe were only 15 minutes away. I mentioned the code to him, and he thanked me. My wife, my son and both my grandsons were assured of their safety, since the leader of the Santa Fe tunnel had sent his best guards to retrieve them. 30 minutes later, I received confirmation of their safety in the tunnel.
I asked if it was possible to join them, and my professor assured me that once the area was cleared, a UAV would bring them to Boston. I waited for almost 3 months, and we were reunited. Since Boston was leveled, I invited the professor and some of my friends to help us rebuild at our ranch outside Santa Fe. The US President wished us all well, and we were aghast as we viewed the devastation during the private plane trip.
My wife, son and grandsons made everyone comfortable at the ranch, and I undertook the task of getting the seeds and repairing the hydroponic garden. Once done, my wife and several ladies began to grow food. The younger men and I gathered up the cattle, while the professor set up a private school for all the children. Our little colony was humble, but we had a fresh start!

Containment Six…. affectionately known as ‘Deep Six’. The most secure facility in the world. It is a prison for containing the worst, most powerful, super powered people in the world. It is on the ocean floor, almost a full mile below sea level.
Every cell is equipped with power dampeners. They don’t just suppress your powers, they feed off of your powers. You spend all day doing nothing but you are exhausted like you used your powers all day, everyday, non-stop. They literally suck your will to live…. to power the lights.
Down here, there is no sun rise, no sun set…. They cycle the lights randomly to keep us from getting into any sort of routine, from being able to measure time or days or figure out guard rotations. Some ‘days’ have two hours of light, some have twenty six hours of light, and, of course, we have everything in between…. Just an extra layer of punishment to our days in solitary.
I don’t know how long I have been here. I don’t belong here, but the courts said otherwise.
There was a fight between two supers. They were tearing apart the city trying to kill each other. One of them crashed into the high rise I was in, right at the base of the building, taking out a structural pillar holding the whole damn place up. The building began to lean, she was going down, so I did the only thing I could think of…. I stood where the pillar was and held up the building.
I was shouting for everyone to evacuate, but it takes time to evacuate ninety floors of office space. I started to sweat. The strain of holding ninety floors up is more than I have ever experienced. The building was slowly crushing me. I could feel my muscle bulge and ache under the strain.
The longest minutes of my life passed as I struggled to hold that building up. The fighting supers came back this way and hit the building again. They took out a second support pillar and the building came down.
I was buried in ninety stories of rubble. I dug myself out and walked away unscathed. One hundred and fifty three people made it out while I held that building up. Two hundred and thirty three died when it came down. The supers kept fighting like the lives didn’t matter.
A rage I didn’t know I possessed washed over me. I watched the two supers flying and fighting, ignoring the carnage and the lives they were destroying and that rage became a fire that I could not contain.
I leapt into the air and crashed into one of the supers flying over head. I wrapped my legs around him and started punching. He couldn’t get away and he couldn’t shake me and by time we crash landed there was only a bloody stump where his head should have been.
The second super landed near us as I screamed at the bloody corpse of the first super.
“Thank-you citizen! I will” #BAM
Fuck him. I hit him with everything I had in an upper cut. I found out later that I knocked his body into orbit. They never found his head.
I collapsed and cried for people lost that today. For the senselessness of it all.
The courts didn’t care about the people who escaped from the building because of my efforts. The courts didn’t care about the people who didn’t escape. The courts didn’t care about the supervillain whose head I pulverized. No… it was city’s hero, one man, that they cared about. I was charged and convicted of knocking the strongest man in the world into orbit. What a farce.
It was decided that I was a threat. That I couldn’t be trusted walking the streets. That I could snap and start punching people into orbit at anytime. I was sentenced to life in solitary at Containment Six.
There were memorials built in his honour…. There was nothing built for regular people that died that day. The world was in love with superhero’s and it didn’t matter how many people they killed, injured or maimed…. As long as it was in the name of the greater good.
Fuck the greater good.
“Open twenty-two!”, a voice yelled. My door slid open. A man in an expensive black suit stood outside my cell. “You look bigger than when you were locked up.”, he said to me.
I shrugged. “I think it is the dampeners. It is like they are forcing me to use my strength non-stop. I might as well be at the gym twenty four seven. This place has made me stronger than I could have ever been on the outside.”, I said.
“Dampeners!”, he yelled. I felt my strength return in an instant. It was like a breath of fresh air. I flexed my muscles and stretched. I haven’t felt this good since I have been down here.
The man in the suit smiled. “I have a proposition for you.”, I raised an eye brow at him, “I am looking to put together a team.”, my face dropped into a scowl. “A team that will stop supers…. Heroes and villains. I don’t care about good and evil. I care about saving lives.”, he said. He was watching my face closely. Reading me. “I watched your trail. I watched the footage of you holding up that building. You cared about the people…. Not the other supers. Not the press or fame… you cared about the people. Join my team and help me put an end to threat the supers pose.”
“Who are you?”, I asked.
“I work for the government. The people maybe in love with the supers but the governments of the world aren’t. They have created a NATO task force, in conjunction with every government in the world, to deal with the super threat.”
“You are going to stop supers with supers?”
“How else?”, he said simply. I shrugged. “Will you join my team?”
“No stupid spandex suits. No cheesy names.”, I said.
“Agreed.”
And just like that I joined the team that hunted down supers.

I opened my eyes and looked around, I was naked, laying in the middle of a field. I felt the grass underneath me as I got up. I couldn’t remember my name, or anything for that matter. Taking a quick look at my hands, I was certainly alive or something of that sort. “This place is dark…I don’t think anyone’s ever told me what the afterlife is like.”
I was near a town, at the front gates was a sign “Just reawakened? Come to the secretary office at the house of the king to obtain your new identity!” I grabbed a towel from someone’s laundry to cover myself up. As I walked through town, I noticed something was off, all the people, were demons. Horns, tail, various unique physical features. However, despite my fear, they were all so friendly, waving to me as they passed, one even offering to help me find the secretary office.
I walked into the office and the person at the desk waved “Hello, welcome to your new life in Hell. I’ll be with you in a moment, but first, let’s get you something to wear.” She walked off and came back with some clothes, encouraging me to put them on. She pulled out some paper “Ok, let’s get a physical first.” She took my height, weight, and physical description, even so much as measuring the length of my new demon horns. “Finally, a name for you, just pick one that resonates. We all had a name in our past lives, or a ‘deadname’ as I like to call them. Usually you can hear it in your head faintly, but distorted, that distorted version can turn into your name.” Faintly, I remembered my name, but I had no recollection of whether it was correct or not. I took a deep breath in and said what I wanted my new name to be.

It was almost perfect in my eyes, only issue my dumb brain could see is that gold isn’t that strong, but it is useful. Replace it with titanium or mithril (if you want something fantasy) and you’ll be golden. I can’t help you with spelling or grammar errors as my brain glosses over them. The nice atmosphere, people relaxing, open clean space, they are alone and in a personal trap of isolation that they cannot understand or overcome. And it’s hell for them. Reply to [WP] You feel your powers flood back to you as the dampeners in your cell shut off. A man in a business suit steps into it and asks a simple question. by ankh3125
My powers are more dangerous than any Superhuman on the planet. I was born with the ability to control gravity. But over time, as my powers grew, Itheu caught the attention of a sentient creature that resided in the Sun's solar energy. The creature was dying, and needed a symbiotic host. I agreed and my powers became that of the universe itself.
I became the hero known as Galaxy. I was capable of creating meteors and asteroids to crash into my enemies, unleash piwerful bursts of Solar energy and radiation. My gravity powers could create miniature supernovas and black holes.
I lost control of my abilities during an eclipse. The supernova was too large and destroyed an entire city. I was thrown into the Verge, a prison for Superhumans built with power dampeners. It felt as if I couldn't breathe, the dampeners draining the solar and celestial energy in my body. Even the being bonded to me became lethargic. Days passed that became weeks, then months. Maybe a few years, but with the windowless, darkened cell, it was hard to tell the pasage of time.
I was surprised when I heard the steady hum of the dampeners in the measurements of my cell go silent. Moreso when the door opened and light spilled in. There in the doorway, shrouded in bright orange light was a tall, thin man in a pinstriped suit with a white shirt and red and white striped tie. His hair was brunette and swept to the side, and thick stubble lined his harsh, square jaw. His green eyes scanned over me with a curious gaze.
"Mr. Jones, or do you prefer Galaxy?"
"Call me Galaxy."
"Very well, Galaxy. I represent a new organization created by the President of the United States, one that depends on the assistance of Superhumans. The President has agreed to pardon you if you decide to join a special task force for the organization for a dangerous mission."
"What is it?"
"Doctor Thanatos has stolen plans for a device that will catch onto an asteroid and drag it towards Earth. If it strikes...Well I don't need to tell you what would happen. As a person with powers from space, he believes that you're likely a unique expert on the matter."
"Ok. If it saves lives...I'll do it. On one condition."
"Of course."
"No pardon. I...my powers are too dangerous for the public, I should return here after the mission is completed until the President needs me again."
