"Am I okay? What kind of question is that?" I shake the gun in my hand annoyedly. "You should be worried about yourself right now! I pull this trigger and you die, don't you understand?"

The girl shrugs. "Yeah, I understand and all, but this doesn't seem like something you would do." She points at the gun like she's shopping for it. "Your powers don't have anything to do with that. I've seen you around work, you're just a 'Porter."

Now that I think of it, I have seen this girl around the factory. She's a Body, so that must be why she doesn't seem too scared. I'd probably give her a bruise and nothing more. "So what if this doesn't have to do with my powers? I'm more than just a 'Porter, you know." I steady the gun so that it's pointing straight at her left eye. "Tch. Classic Body, only looking at the surface. But back to the question. What do you mean by 'are you okay'? And remember, I'm the one with the gun. Think before you talk."

She pauses to ponder her answer. While she's thinking, I create a clear bullet sized portal from my muzzle to right in front of her face. It'll make reaction time useless, along with giving my bullet the power to penetrate her eyelid should she blink. The girl points a finger in the air. The pointing is starting to get annoying. "You're Marle, right? Jacob Marle?" The question shocks me.

"What the heck does that have to do with anything?"

"Your sister is the Crafter that died yesterday right?"

"SHUT UP!" How DARE she mention my sister?! "YOU BODIES KILLED HER! DON'T ACT SO INNOCENT!"

The girl contorts her face into a frown. "Really? How do you know?"

"BECAUSE I SAW THE CORPSE! NO PORTER, CRAFTER, OR SEER COULD DO THAT TO A PERSON!" I blink the tears out of my eyes and take a deep breath, leveling my gun again. "and now, I'm gonna kill every last Body who works here. If I had more power, I'd kill every Body in the world. 90% of violent crime and property damage, gone. If you think about it, I'm doing this company and the world a huge favor."

"Yeah, but if YOU think about it, you'll notice your just grieving your sister. You don't actually wanna kill all of us, you just want to avenge your sister."

"You don't know anything" I hiss.

"Killing me won't help your sister. It won't help you, either." She looks concerned for me. She's not scared at all.

I put my finger on the trigger. "It will help me, it will. It will. It..." I drop the gun and put my hands, dropping to my knees. All I can feel is pain, grief, every negative emotion flowing through my body.

I feel a pair of arms around me, strong arms. The girl didn't run? I lift my head and see her face as a human for the first time. She looks so kind, just like... I shove my head into her shoulder, sobs wracking through my body. "Why did Em have to die? What did she do wrong?"

The girl has no answer, she just holds me in that alley, my gun still lying on the cold ground.

I have to do something! I don’t even remember what I did in
my past lives. I don’t remember what got me sent to prison. I have been in prison
as far as I can remember.

The guard came up and banged on the door. “Happy 18th
birthday!” the guard laughed, “You’re finally an adult and can be served your
sentence.”

I stepped back and put my hands on the wall. I long ago
learned not to mess with the guards in maximum security. The cell opened and 3
guards came in, chaining me from head to feet. I was put on a stretcher and
carried out of my cell.

I was carried through a yard. What is this? Blue? My eyes
hurt. This is my first time in this life seeing the sky! I was stood up on the
other end of the yard and a clergy came out and performed rites. On a pedestal
stood a man who spoke up.

“Prisoner 15667522, you are hereby served for your sentence.
This will be your 13th of 22 death sentences. Lord have mercy on
your soul.”

Prison guards lined up on the other side of the yard, aimed
and fired.

The kingdom was in turmoil. The queen bee was dead, and without her, the hive was falling apart. The invader was relentless, and the soldiers were fighting a losing battle. I knew that I had to do something to save my people, so I made the difficult decision to flee the hive and beg for mercy from our god and protector.

I left the hive and began my journey in search of the beekeeper, the one who had always protected and cared for us. The journey was long and treacherous, as the kingdom was burning around me. The invader had destroyed everything in their path, and I had to navigate through the destruction to reach my destination.

Finally, I reached the beekeeper's home, and I fell to my knees in front of him. I begged for his mercy and protection, and I implored him to cast out our enemies and save our kingdom. The beekeeper listened to my plea, and he looked upon me with compassion. He knew that I was desperate, and he knew that I had nowhere else to turn.

The beekeeper then reached out his hand and touched my forehead, and I felt a warmth spread throughout my body. I knew that he had heard my prayer and that he was going to help me. He then sent out his army of bees, and they flew out to the kingdom and drove out the invader.

The kingdom was saved, and the hive was restored to its former glory. I returned home, and I was hailed as a hero. I knew that I had done the right thing, and I knew that I had the beekeeper's protection. From that day on, I knew that no matter what happened, I would always have a guardian to turn to in times of need.

That's fair. We chose to label drones as male because of their chromosomes and them having a penis. But I'd still argue you should call them by the feminine pronouns, because we as humans decided they're female.
