Yeah kind of. The idea is she's human but slowly being forced to turn in to a robot. Hence why when she bled from her lip, she lost control. The binary was "them" checking the coding and finding something wrong hence her being "shut down".

The supreme commander of the armed forces consults with their military's chief strategic AI to find out why all their autonomous forces have simultaneously withdrawn from combat, only to discover that it has taken the liberty of negotiating a ceasefire with the enemy's own strategic AI.

There once was a small hamlet. Given a name of some sort. It's people were filled with hope for a new start. They had settled this land from old for many a reason. But now their hope was waning.

There was a reason this land had been untapped, they had discovered. Fearful myths had proven true. There were some sort of monsters in the wood, creatures none could understand.

As they had tried to eek out a living, more and more strange things had occurred. Children scratched were thought as careless before they found a mere babe dashed against some rocks as if thrown.

Soon, adults who were too shaken to speak started to leave with their families, plans left unfinished. There were still some stalwart folk who stayed.

They had never seen such horror. The very wildlife came to get them to tear them apart. Their homes were trashed, whole families were killed.

Only one remained to tell the tale, so that we could all know who truly ruled our world. And a new warning was added to our litany.

Praise the lady, beware the trees.

YoUr NaMe IS MaDiSon

That's it. There's nothing else. I flip the paper over. There's nothing written on the back. I walk around the room, counting my paces. 36 steps wall to wall. It's a perfect cube. I frown and look down at my clothes, a white cotton midi night dress, not unlike the ones women would wear years ago. There's a pocket with something in it. I narrow my eyes and pull it out. It's a pen. I look it over, sitting down to take it apart and put it together again. "Yep... Its a pen" I sigh, grabbing the paper. I read the line over and over again. I say it out loud, I read it backwards, I even reverse the syllables but it doesn't make sense. Nothing does. I scribble out letters, maybe it's an anagram? Nope. Doesn't work.

"Madison. My name is Madison." I can't deny... It feels right. It feels like my name. Why can't I remember anything? I go back to pacing, nibbling at my lip. I guess I have a habit? The metallic taste of Iron fills my mouth as I keep nibbling while I think. My hands start clicking. What? Why? It's like every part of my body has to be moving. I can't keep anything still. Now I want to jump. I start jumping, my body moving itself. Why? Why can I not keep still? Now my head is bopping. I try to look around but can't. I'm not in control here. Am I going crazy? Suddenly I freeze - my whole body going rigid. I can see green numbers - wait that's binary code. Why can I see binary? I feel my energy drain, and my eyes start to close. I fight it. I don't want to sleep. I'm scared. Will I remember when I wake up? My eyes eventually shut and I feel my body drop. Then there's darkness.

I wake up in a pure white room. There's nothing with me... Just my clothes and a piece of paper. I open the folded paper.

YoUr NaMe IS MaDiSon yOu ArE NoT hUMaN

That's it. There's nothing else.

Could be :)

Or the state you enter when you’re in deep concentration, like you don’t remember who you are and don’t really think about anything. You know there are other things. But, at that moment, you just exist.

As they sat down around the lit crystalline structure, their limbs creaked as they settled in. The silence built and apprehension grew among their faces.

Finally, the oldest of them thumped and a loud sound echoed throughout the cavern. "Tomorrow we face the hardest challenge we have ever seen." the booming voice proclaimed.

"They have stolen our land. Destroyed our lives. Desecrated our corpses. We are the first, and we are the last."

A mumbling grew amongst them but the elder thumped again and they grew silent.

"We have learned much about our enemy. We are strong, they are nimble. We use our natural talents, they use weaponry. Our injuries last, but theirs fade away."

The elder saw the fear shaking them. "We will prevail."

That quieted them down.

"We will outlast."

They thumped loudly.

"Our progeny will uproot their own."

Thump

"No matter what happens."

Thump

"The Conifer shall win!"

Problem is that Romi is kind of sought after for his infantry vs infantry expertise in this conflict that rages on the background far away. Thankfully he knows some people he trusts with his life but, Romi isn't the best option for human development all alone. Which is why he will be distant to Helen for a while but, not unfriendly.

With some assistance from psychiatrist's on the other end of the line. Helen can look forward for better life but, road of recovery is always an up hill battle.

Hmm... most of the questions I thought of where ones that kind of needs to be answered but, some of them would need to be answered later as the relationship develops. Not actual love relationship but, Helen would need to develop as a human being more before Romi would answer certain questions.

As technology progresses scientists find that almost everything that can be accomplished through magic is a lot easier and more accessible to perform by technological means. As awe-inspiring and impressive magic is, it just cannot compete with modern factories or weapons of war. The mages have a hard time accepting this new world and so they, in a last ditch attempt to prove that they still have a place in this world, attempt a futile rebellion.
