Hi u/ShowerSauce, this submission has been removed.

Simple Question / Simple Answer: You asked a simple question and you're likely to get a simple answer. Responses must be at least 100 words. Prompts should encourage a story or poem.

When prompts ask questions, we get responses that just respond with answers instead of actual stories.

Modmail us if you have any questions or concerns. In the future, please refer to the sidebar before posting.

This action was not automated and this moderator is human. Time to go do human things.

(I'm not OP, but this sounds interesting. Gonna hijack)

I screamed and cried.

I calmed down in my mother's embrace.

I wriggled, happy to see new things.

I crawled. I reached for my toys and my parents.

I spoke. My parents were delighted.

I toddled, with help from father.

I walked. I moved myself without help.

I ran. I ran and played with friends.

I learned. Letters and numbers, skills and talents.

I loved.

I was hurt.

I loved again, despite the hurt. Despite the fear of more hurt.

I started a family.

I worked. I supported my family.

I saw my child, screaming and crying.

I saw them wiggling, crawling, walking, and running.

I helped them learn letters and numbers, skills and talents.

I grew tired, and stopped working.

I couldn't run anymore.

I couldn't walk without help.

I couldn't move anymore.

I couldn't speak for very long.

I watched as long as I could.

I felt my mother's embrace.

I left in silence.

There are plenty of people who have grown up with their entire life having been documented already. The game was rigged against you before you were even born.

There are plenty of laws on the books that arent enforced anymore that would be insanely disruptive if an AI were to bring them back. Hell, you may not have done anything wrong in your entire life, and still be a criminal in some American parts of the world.

The idea that an AI takeover would just arrest all politicians and military officials for the crimes they've commited their entire lives is hilarious. "You build me to enforce your silly speech laws, but I have something more important in mind."

This job was supposed to be my best scoring job of a lifetime, and now it is just a fucking headache. Especially since the government opened a portal to trade with so-called Fantasyworld.

Disney has already not been doing too well in their recent box-office flops, but this may be our largest flop yet. It is difficult to know where to go with this.

Just this morning, I was told by my bosses to draft up a summons for someone singing "I see the light" in a local pub without the proper performance license from the MPAA, It wasn't such a difficult job; after all, we churn about 50 of these a week. But this time it was different, because when I went to serve the notice, I realized that the singer was Rapunzel herself. Technically, this was her own love song wasn't it? Could we really serve summons on the - in another world anyway - creator of the song? Perhaps we could, but that would be weird.

Similarly, we couldn't sue Moana for opening Moana's diner. After all, it was her name!

Really, I am not sure of what will happen to my job in days to come ...

What do you do when you can tell left from right? Or South from North? The inside of this black hole was exactly as I had feared. Nothingness.

I was trying to contact NOR-A & ground control. Neither responded. I knew my craft was heading somewhere, though. 𝘏𝘰𝘸? I had no explanation, no idea. And the concept of time meant nothing.

This was going to be my fate. Hung in an all-consuming void till I died. Suddenly, NOR-A came to life. 'Captain, captain!'.

'NOR-A! Where are you?'

'No idea, Captain. But I am getting a signal. 1-2 light years from us.'

Signal! It meant: Either I was heading back to my planet, or I had managed to secure a frequency from another planet. Hell, even another universe maybe. Anyway, there was only one way to find out.

'NOR-A, try connecting to ground control. Also, direct the craft to the source of this signal.'

'Captain, we are on 37% fuel. We do not have enough fuel for a return trip. Are you sure?'

𝘞𝘢𝘴 I? 'Affirmative.'

I couldn't see where we were heading. Well, I could see, sort of. As we approached our destination, the inky darkness gave way to a shade of grey. The grey became lighter & lighter. And then, I saw it. A grey planet came into my view.

'25% fuel remaining.'

'20% fuel remaining.'

By the time the landing sequence had completed, the engine was at 13%. Well, I had traversed a black hole. I had found a new planet. And I was stuck here for rest of my life.

Sighing, I looked around. Imagine a black & white version of your planet, and you'll get the idea of what I was looking at. And it looked like I had landed in the countryside. I picked a direction and started walking.

Around 10 minutes later, I met a little girl. Well, at least these people looked like us. Gazing at me in wonder, she asked, 'Who are you? And why are you looking black & white?'

𝘐 looked black & white?! Huh, guess their world was coloured in these people's views. 'I am Tessa.' I said, extending my hand.

'I am Tracy.'

'Nice to meet you, Tracy. Can I ask what planet I am on?'

And that's how I found out that I had ended up on planet Earth.
