OP edited it, I understood the context but saying one feeling in one sentence and in the other an opposite sentence is a bit jarring.

It could have been fixed pretty easily by using a word like "but then.." etc to indicate the mood had changed.

Many identical twins have indistinguishable DNA. Maybe they could have different mutations maybe not. Plus the police would have had to somehow had the original DNA records to tell who is who. Dental records would probably be a better distinguisher.

Thank you for your critique !! I was kinda out of it I was writing mostly, I was working on some homework but that's no excuse !!

I wasn't thinking of Nox being a molester. And that wasn't a reason why Nox convinced to change her name, There was another reason that haven't been revealed yet. I asked a couple of my friends and they said it's okay for teachers to touch kids as long as it isn't like that. I imagined as it as playfully ruffling. But i understand, I'll rewrite it :))

“It’s the 10 year anniversary of the brutal lake view apartment massacre.” I turned the TV off out of habit. It’s been 10 years since 10% of the population suddenly got telepathic powers. It’s also been 10 years since the massacre that happened in my old apartment building. For 10 years I tried to forget what happened. For 10 years I lived in a remote island, away from the telepaths. I yearned to share that beautiful sight with them, to it share with the world. When I close my eyes I could see it. An art work that had achieved perfection. Something no human can ever hope to create. I never realised whether it was gift or curse. But I knew that I had to put an end to it.

There were many who tried to find me. But no one was as persistent as the first telepathic journalist to cover the incident. After 10 years she had finally found me.

“Today, I will be able to see it again.” I said to myself, as I heard the footsteps outside. I grabbed my gun, my heart beat quickened with a mix of expectation, anxiety and euphoria.

I stood near the door and waited for her telepathic range to reach me. I could feel her telepathy searching my brain. I could feel all her thoughts as she felt mine. She was looking through my memories. The memories of my childhood, then my teenage years until she found that night. A group of teenage telepath’s accidentally linking all the brains of the residents of the lake view apartment. It was an enlightening experience. To know that everyone was going through something. That everyone had secrets. It was peaceful. It was until they awakened that thing inside my brain. A remnant of a being out of our understanding, sealed inside the psyche of an ordinary human. She saw it too. She saw perfection beyond human comprehension and she how the sight of that being turned humans into ashes. It was too late. She had seen it and she knew her life was going to end.
It never harmed me and I always felt a feeling of devotion and bliss upon seeing it. “I’m sorry. I just needed to see it one last time.” I told to what remained of my nemesis, as I pulled the trigger, falling into its embrace.

Oh woah I'm so stupid I didn't even think House Of Change would be a real novel, nevertheless yours! It's funny because I wrote on this sub once, and it did pretty well actually, I was blown away by how much people liked it. But anyway, it was also a prompt related to a story and I included references to my actual aspired story in it. So hey, great minds think alike, I guess, lmao.

Maybe I should start responding to prompts myself. Gonna have a lot of free time today, if I'm actually feeling up to it I might try.

What is House Of Change about? I really liked your style in this so maybe once it's out I'll actually finally buy a new book for the first time in a million years :')

I mean wouldn't his affection for her have carried over from when he was human? He purposely had her reading the wrong copy of the book draft because he didn't want her to change before he became a monster.

"I know this is going to sound crazy detective but that woman at my house is not my wife! Her name is Hannah Pinkman and she killed her sister, my wife, Lauren White two weeks ago. Since then she's been posing as my wife. You see, I couldn't tell the difference because they're identical twins and I had never met her before. I didn't even know she existed before the murder occurred. The only reason I found out tonight was because I was going through old photos in the basement and saw a picture of them together. You can't tell them apart." It felt good to finally tell somebody even if I had only known for a short time.

"Even if they do look alike why do you think that isn't your wife?" Detective Fring asked.

"She hasn't been the same person ever since the murder. I thought she was going through the grieving process, but when I saw the photo it just clicked. That's not the same woman I married, trust me, I would know. Don't you guys have DNA testing? It's the twenty first century for Christ sake we can figure this out in a heartbeat!" I said.

"Well Mark, it just so happens that we do have DNA testing." Detective Fring then proceeded to open the massive binder he brought in. "I was the lead detective on the murder case you're talking about and, well, it just so happens that the woman that was murdered is indeed Hannah Pinkman. We did the analysis weeks ago." Detective Fring said as he started to point out a series of lab results from his binder.

"The woman killed by an unknown assailant by way of gunshot wound on the sixth of September was Hannah Pinkman, sister of Lauren White. Your wife told us back at the house that you've been acting strangely, telling her since the murder that you didn't believe it was really her. You've developed into an alcoholic and an abusive one at that. You've been cheating on your wife and beating her senselessly since the murder. That's why she called the police tonight, not you. Mark, you've gone off the deep end and frankly, I don't believe a damn word you're saying. But here's the cherry on top to put your accusations at rest. Lauren was willing to give a DNA sample back at the house. The officers swabbed her cheeks and we got them to the lab right away. The woman you've been beating on is your wife, Lauren White."

Edit: I will continue writing this if it gets 10 upvotes or 1 comment saying you want the story to continue. Thanks for reading :) Also any criticism or feedback is more than welcome :)
