lmao, what kind of people work at the airport who stay at “nearby” hotels?

Ridiculous. Business travelers prefer to get dropped off at their airline’s section of departures. Not walk 1/2 mile with bag in tow.

When the airport is busy, that last section in a car can take a while. I think there would be situations where it would be good to have my Uber or cab drop me off near this bridge in Crystal City and me walking the rest of the way.

I run on the mount vernon trail multiple times a week and often see people with luggage, sometimes airline employees walking towards the airport using the covered path underneath the railroad tracks. I’m guessing a new, straight forward path would encourage more people near by to use it.

It would help a lot of people who work at the airport and people who stay at nearby hotels.

I bet a lot of people will. Crystal City has a lot of hotels for business travelers, and Amazon will be attracting even more travelers to the area.

How many people are actually going to use this? Other than the handful of travelers who live in Crystal cities, why wouldn’t people just ride the train one more stop directly to the airport itself?
Also, who the hell bikes to an airport to then get on a plane and leave their bike locked up in a public space for days at a time?

I recall reading many years ago that the reason the National Airport metro station was built above ground was because it was hoped that it would be more visible and draw more passengers from Crystal City that way. It never did, especially after the parking structures were constructed. Instead, recently arrived air passengers have ever since had to stand on an outdoor station platform that can get brutally cold in winter with the wind blowing in from the Potomac, and stiflingly hot in the summer.
If I'm remembering that motivation correctly, evidently Arlington is still trying to make it happen.

Joyce Motors, Cherrydale Motors, or Reinhard's Garage are all solid choices. Either I or friends/colleagues have gone there and haven't had any complaints.
Any maintenance in particular you need done?

AAA at Seven Corners has been reliable for me. It’s not the cheapest but definitely more affordable than dealers’ maintenance. You can get a quote for what you need, and shop it around.

Origin in Pentagon City is fantastic, as someone previously mentioned. Commonwealth Joe, also in Pentagon City, is another favorite. It’s not as pleasant a place to sit and drink at the moment since it’s adjacent to the Amazon construction. Origin is in a courtyard type thing with lots of nice places to sit.

There is a small local chain with many locations in Arlington. They are called Star Bucks. Usually have some locations near enough to the airport.
One in Roslyn at the corner of Clarendon Blvd a d N. Oak St could give you parking and quick access to GW Parkway to get back to Gravely Point.
