The holographic principle is a thing. There are hypothetical descriptions of a black hole that say all of the information about the particles that entered the event horizon is spread out on a 2-D layer around the event horizon.
This math could be extrapolated to show that all of our reality is a projection onto the surface of a higher dimensional universe.
There is no proof for this. It is only a mathematical description of one of the ways our universe might look from some higher dimensional perspective. As far as I'm aware, it is based on sound science, but that doesn't mean it is true.
PBS Spacetime on YouTube did a whole series of videos on this.

That makes no sense. Anyone who has ever lifted weights can tell you the gains come easily when starting out and taper off.

Are we sure Synapsids and Sauropsids are distinct clades? So their common ancestor is neither?

Even the fibers themselves are different. You can tell male from female just from the composition.

Cancer cells often do look different than the originating tissue, and can have distinct histologic markers on the microscope.

Now I know why they call it a beaver...
Thank you.

Thank you for this! I try my best and we have open honest conversations at home. We talk about all different types of things and kids do understand more than some people give them credit for.

Exactly. Takes the implications right out of it. Sprawling gaits and ectothermy work well for some, no need to change it, doesn't mean they're "primitive" just means they're undergoing different selective pressures!
lol, yes. But. to say we come from such a beautifully complex lineage is pretty cool too. Enigmatic in some cases. More fun that way, imo.

If kids ask questions, they should get honest answers. They understand (or are capable of understanding) a lot more than most adults give them credit for -- as long as you're willing to answer a lot of questions and make a decent effort with them. There's no need to hand out toys to distract them.
