They mate for life ya know…and they never let a gosling be an orphan, so you know… you might be a dad …for a looong time. Mine lived maybe 15 years? I find this is specifically true if the air is very dry. I think they know if they are touching you when they get pets, they wont get shocked as bad. Especially with my long hair kitty, I have to use my non pet hand to hold her, so she wont get zapped every time I pet her... but of course, the second I stop petting her, she pokes me with her claws.
