I hope this was a less than a full article. Other wise it is like watching the same prequel for the last 50 yrs. It is a shame that we have to keep educating the public about the many bad things that were planned, just before and after WWII to create American city ghettos. Some of us have known the causes for years, but we never get to the phase of possible cures. Its no different than watching a movie about the black death but never getting to the cure. I am not sure if a full length article comparing Bolton Hill to Mondawmin would be any better, as I know the article would spend most of its ink on rehashing what is already known.
What I want to hear are possible solutions and plans to try them, evaluate them and move on to the next one if that one does not work. I don't expect the first one or the 100th one to be the perfect answer. That is how research is done. Edison failed hundreds of times, with his invention of the incandescent light, even the one that did work, better than the others, had to be refined. We have spent 50 yrs in the idle mode. always listening to the nay-sayers and fear mongers who want the status quo to continue. Most of them are located out side the city anyway.

This is great, after moving here from the south the one thing that stood out to me was the lack of outside dinning made everywhere feel dead. My only concern is if the price is sustainable and wether a restaurant will have to pay it for all year round or just in the warmer months when outdoor dinning is popular.

If you’re going to consider shake shack good, then places like CFA, Chipotle, Corner Bakery, Kabul, Attman’s, Asian Fusion, and the little halal cart by powerplant can be considered good to someone. I don’t know this guys budget or what him and his date like.

Your solution? Let's say they catch this 15 year old who methodically planned out and forcibly raped a woman. Are you going to therapize this behavior away?

This isn't shoplifting, or a fight. Or even armed robbery. Or even battery. It's violent rape by a stronger male of a vulnerable woman. This kind of thing doesn't just ruin the life of the woman. This trauma will infect those around her, and it will get passed down in one form or another to future generations.

The justice system isn't trying to fix this person, it's trying to dissuade the rapist's classmate or neighbor from doing the same.

None of the guardrails that are supposed to keep this individual from doing this worked up to this point. But suddenly this person is going to respond to tough love from a state appointed counselor?
