Reply to Water theft by sxswnxnw

I’ve noticed (presumed) unhoused neighbors filling water bottles. I’ve been asked to fill water bottles and obliged. Of all the things I could be stingy about, this certainly ain’t it.

We actually did have $400,000,000,000 that we could have spent building this, but our elected officials spent it on interstate highways and other car-only infrastructure instead.

So now instead of paying $3.50 to take the Metro across town, you get to pay hundreds of dollars a month for a car payment, insurance, gas, parking, and repairs & maintenance. Not to mention the value of your time which is wasted in traffic jams and looking for parking.

Greenmount and 33rd St/Old Main Street has gotten better over the past 7+ years since I lived there. There is the YMCA... Red Emma's has joined the number of new businesses on the Old Main Street... the Pakistani grocer and halal butcher across from Enoch Pratt Library (you'd miss it if you didn't know it was there) is a great place for Indian cooking ingredients and things like almonds, spices.

definitely Amtrak! not sure if its the cheapest compared to bus prices, but I've done it over ten times to Philly! I book with their app! When I book early it's always super cheap but honestly when I head to Philly or NYC I take the 6 AM train and it's always super cheap haha. Never had a problem, just sleep on the train! Being from Dallas, I'm always super impressed and thankful for this kind of public transportation/infrastructure.
