I'm not in Hampden. I'm in 21218. But for comparison, I have a 1344 square foot rowhouse (not end of group), and have been here 13.5 years. My highest BGE bill was $291.97 in July 2020. The average has been just under $135. The bill I got last week was $145.23, and my next one (which will include the recent cold snap) is currently projected to be $197. I honestly couldn't imagine paying two to three times as much.

We’ve flown out of Dulles and stayed at an airport hotel the night before. They typically let you leave your car at the hotel while you’re away. Especially helpful for morning flights.

The recs for libraries and Mr Cork are spot on, but also you can just go to any random playground mid-morning or mid-afternoon (i.e. not nap or meal times) and there will likely be at least a couple sets of parents and/or nannies there.

I did this hunt about a year ago, ended up getting a rental car in Baltimore the night before the flight and drove 1 way to Dulles. Picked the car up at an Avis station in a downtown hotel

Facebook Groups and just go to playgrounds in your neighborhood

Honestly having young kid is like a second college. Everyone with kids the same age is desperate to hang out. When summer comes around you can just put a kiddie pool in front of your stoop and bam instant friends

I’d say the cyclist is in the wrong… but that’s my opinion and mine only. Baltimore is a very fragmented city, and certain niche lifestyle lobbying groups like Bikemore have capitalized on that. Cars, buses and trains= bad and a waste of taxpayer dollars. Bikes and dedicated bike lanes= the savior of humanity.

Damn, i thought several of these were just nice ,local, quiet spots. Now I need to evaluate if I'm trash.

Side notes:

  • Venice Tavern use to sell spaghetti. Going there now, that seems ilegal.

  • Idol Hour: once bough oysters form a guy sitting in the back of the bar near the bathroom. They were exceptionally fresh. He also tried to sell me a "bag of fresh crabs", i donkey declined because I just ate.

  • Every one needs a good Mt Royal Tavern story

  • 1919 smells like they still let you smoke inside
