I'm so sorry to hear about this. I worked out with "lightning bug" when Baltimore boxing was still in Fells Point and I went to his new gym in Mt. Vernon a few times as well. He was a tough coach but very patient and helped a lot of new fighters. He was just as nice as the article describes. May his memory be a blessing to others.

I'm male, which might matter, but I walk this path pretty frequently. I live dead-center downtown and walk on either Cathedral or Charles as far north as Mi Comalito/Baltimore Eagle. I've never had any trouble or even really been worried–those passages are pretty dead at night. Sometimes I take the bus, but at night when it's running infrequently I often just walk.

Highly recommend going to a doctor first. Blood work, conversation, if possible look at your parents history that could show maybe you have something genetic passed down that would result in higher blood pressure.

Maybe it's a simple as diet and exercise. Maybe it's more serious and you need medicine. Usually better to start with the professional first then work your way down to the woohoo

If you did that already good luck and watch out for those pushing their vitamin and everything under the sun. Lots of nonsense out there

Naturopathy is not quackery. I used Dr Faust up in Towson. Chesapeake natural health. He has done amazing things for many people in the area. Immediately got my hypertension under control and years later still do. Also got me through health issues quickly after struggling with traditional medicine for years. So do what’s right and what works for you.
