Wow, ok. I don't think you understand how statistics work.

Explain to me why Baton Rouge, which has higher poverty than Baltimore proportionally, has lower crime that Baltimore proportionally. Baton Rouge has more poverty, so by your logic, more areas of the city have low income, so there should be more crime. But, in fact, there's 40+% LESS crime! Make that make sense...

IMO, yes. Especially depending on what garage you park in. BUT I worked nightshift. I drove to UMMC for many years and Os games were the worst between the traffic and being assigned to park in a garage that was also frequently used by game attendees, but I was traveling to work at the same time people were going to the game. I kept the Os home schedule in my calendar so I could either not work those days or leave early. I think if youre working a traditional day time schedule you would have much less of a headache.

Good timing on my part, I guess 😅 I just now made a post asking for recommendations for a specific type of restaurant that doesn't have any recent threads (last I saw on the subject were at least 3 years old, and some were 7 or 10 years). I went with the Baltimore Love flair, but a food- or restaurant-specific one might be handy.

I work near UMD Hospital. Traffic is terrible on opening day...

Every.

Single.

Year.

Catch public transit/uber if you have to go anywhere. Parking will be hell. Traffic will be backed up all the way to midtown or Little italy.

Okay, maybe I was a little harsh because the post came off as so clueless. But, i honestly don't think just saying: read this and you'll understand WHY you should avoid high crime neighborhoods gets at what OP was asking. They were obviously looking for a list/map or whatever of areas they should avoid which tells me they put no effort into figuring this out themselves beforehand. I was less upset about the same question on crime coming up and moreso frustrated at the general laziness the internet seems to create. It's easy to just hop on here and ask away and wait for someone to do the work for you.

looks at all the basements flooded with sewage yea, pretty much

Like the point is current investment is insufficient to maintain these systems. The maintenance backlog is extensive but letting it get this bad to begin with is also expensive, having to put out every systemic proverbial fire costs the city a lot day over day where well maintained there would be a lot less crisis situations happening.
