It's good to hear that they're being used for crime. I personally don't know if they're worth it or not. I suspect they are since they're used by cities our size and larger around the world. Maybe not a great use for stolen vehicles but for car jackings definitely which is what I assume the majority of those were. My reply was because I find that the yelling at kids in pools argument so many make to be not a good argument and does their position on the matter a disservice.

Obviously that's not the only use for the helicopters. Just a very small fragment of its use (despite so many people in this sub going straight to that as the reason for it being wasteful spending). As OP pointed out in another comment, they're at least used to follow stolen vehicles which are often the result a car jacking.

Also, 5 lifeguards wouldn't work. We would need 24/7 lifeguards because children trespass at all hours.

My hog senses are tingling here... I feel that this new hearing is not going to go as smoothly as a lot ppl may think. It could be because I'm still on the "Adnan is guilty" camp and maybe I'm wanting some drama or some new twist to arise. Personally, I just feel that to get to the bottom of this case, sometimes you need to go back to the very beginning and work your way back up, meaning start the trial from over, so that it is fair and transparent for both sides. After all of these back-and-forths, this case has seemed to become a little disjointed, almost like taking pieces from here and there. To me, it doesn't seem that the Maryland court wants to get to the bottom of this case.

We used to live in the apartments at Owings run. Not bad there as at the time it was spacious for the price. We had a few noise complaints and maintenance issues (they guys upstairs would play AGGRESSIVE ping pong at all hours and it sounded like a herd of elephants. They did stop after I explained what was we heard from them ). YMMV there as it’s chAnged hands a few times. Bonus is you can walk down to the dunkin/Yuki sushi/bourbon bar at the shopping center down the hill.

One bonus is every grocery store in existence seems to have a presence in OM. They are all pretty close too which is nice.

I need to find the purchase, maintenance and annual operation cost of this. I wonder if that money would be better spent on officers on the ground in neighborhood patrols, rather than the daily noise of helicopters circling over my peaceful town making it sound and feel like a crime ridden war zone. FT_ will do little or nothing to curb the gun violence in Baltimore.

Is it just me or do people drive extra aggressively around Owings Mills? Admittedly, most of my experience is with folks on 795, but some of them getting off on the Owings Mills exits seem to drive like kamikazes.

Thank you! There's an update. Yesterday afternoon, I received the initial contact by the hiring coordinator. First thing on the list? Submit a urine sample for a drug screen. I was devastated. I panicked and immediately (while I was still WAY worked up) called the hiring woman and my (upcoming?) supervisor. My supervisor after we spoke talked to HIS boss who actually took his time to call me back.

All three of them said the same thing: Just continue thru the process. The implication (though never stated explicitly) is that while there IS a drug screen, a marijuana positive result is not a death sentence. They all gave me the impression that if I go to the test, be up front in advance with what will be in the result. Don't hide it.

Soon after this drug screen (my appointment is at 1:45), I'll get the rest of my health screen where everything, including my (presumably) positive result. They were trying to say explain the use and be sure to have my MMCC number handy. I think I'm going to be OK, but I'm still not celebrating--not until they've said it's OK. I believe I'm correct with their dancing-around-it language. They think I'll be OK, having heard my story. I believe them because if they thought it would be a dealbreaker, they would've told me so to save everyone some time, and save the hospital money. I hope I'm right!

When the judge dropped the charges, it had to be done "without prejudice," which allowed them to re-file any charges. If the DA honestly thought he was innocent, he would have done so, but there was also societal/office pressure and the victim's family to deal with. If the judge dropped the charges "with prejudice," double jeopardy would attach.

Yeah, what the others said. At this point all the new development situated at the Metro Centre TOD or nearby is luxury/high-rise. The further you get from that area the more suburban/exurban.

So it’s really what you’re looking for and your price range. The apartments at/in Mill Station, Metro Centre, Foundry Row have the best walkability, amenities, etc, but are also quite expensive (at least to my budget).

I live further down Painters Mill Rd towards T. Rowe Price and McDonogh, and besides the incessant noise from traffic, it’s a nice place to live.

I was meh on rippled until the dill pickle flavor came out only in rippled. And I love it. And then a non rippled pickle flavor came out and it wasn’t nearly as good.

Whole thing shaped my ideas on ripples.
