So I used to work in OM (for over a decade) and didn't realize just how bad it was until I stopped going there every single day. Now I work in Hunt Valley and anytime I go to OM (sometimes I'll pickup at the target out there if they have something in stock that Timonium doesn't) and WOW. It's bananas the way folks drive over there. I assume it's in part because of how much more dense the population became over a short period of time but idk.

I guy I went to high school with, Matt Hershel, died as a result of a high speed chase in Baltimore. He was walking on a sidewalk. They used to happen almost daily.

I get that they have uses, but it is not a zero sum game. How many high speed chases do we have here? What are the stats about how cars drive when being chased by cops vs helis? Is establishing perimeters and road blocks safer? How much do alternatives cost vs a heli?

One use of them is avoiding high speed vehicle chases through the city and preventing the inevitable resulting deaths from high speed chases. Tracking them from a helicopter and getting perpetrators when they stop the car and get out is safer. They can be bank robbers, shooters, whatever. They don’t just chase swimmers out of pools.

I know Syed is beloved and lionized in circles convinced of his innocence. I don't think he belongs in prison on the evidence we have. But I think Hae Min Lee's story often gets lost, or usurped by those who support Syed. I hated them reading her diary in The Case Against Adnan Syed, when Lee's family pleas are always ignored.

There is no justice in this world, especially not for Hae Min Lee.

I've played since I was a kid and would love a new group. I'm mid 30s AFAB but genderqueer about it. I do like cheesecake but can commit to not bringing it.

My characters tend to be more comic relief or very serious, depending on what the group needs. I'm down to play any class! Just give me enough time to research it. I won't ask for any homebrew stuff either, I know that can get difficult.
