Aldi is absolutely incredible. If anyone reading this hasn’t tried shopping there, I hope you take this article serious. Their produce is fresh. Only downside is their selection isn’t always great but you save so much money there that it’s worth stopping at giant or wherever else on your way home.

Don’t forget your reusable bags and quarter

The two things aren’t inextricably connected. You can watch the matches while still being frustrated/disappointed/angry about fifa and Qatar. Plus, not going to a local bar or even watching at home isn’t going to have some significant economic impact or make a difference.

Channel that anger into something more impactful.

In the modern era, communication between higher ups and management and union organizers on the ground is lightning fast. Wherein the past strikes were much longer, and would maybe be a whole month of a city of people stopping work until the militia arrived, now they are, as historians say, atomized. Strikes must be done often to effectively communicate to management that the “new” conditions of employment are just as untenable as the last set of conditions. Bargaining happens more quickly than in the past, accelerating strikes and protests frequency.

At first I was like "Why do Starbucks employees need to unionize? It was an easy job when I had it 20 years ago."

And then I realized all of the ways that the company has gone all in on becoming Milk Based Fast Food: app purchases that overwhelm the physical space, drive throughs, the end of "the third place".

So good for them. Stick it to the man!

I don't know how the transfer time will be, but driving up does create a lot of issues as well. Tolls and parking and gas and traffic variance. Plus stress. And many people can work on a train. Or play video games. Oh, and some people care about the environmental impact of their travel.

I am not saying this is clearly better. But another cheap and green option is good imo.
