It's a matter of staffing. So this is overtime, and finding officers who want to work overtime isn't easy, so they end up drafting people. And the issue is that as the number of cops has dropped, it's not like the number of posts needed has changed. There needs to be a bigger discussion around BPD not being available to staff all of the traffic posts.

No one here is being sensitive, but your pointless and obvious comment is just a senseless refrain and nothing more. We all know there are a lot of murders here. But they’re a symptom of larger problems. One of the main factors is social inequity. Improving transit for the poorest people improves their quality of life, which in turn decreases poverty, and lowers crime rates. Bringing up the murders in this city any other issue is even slightly tackled is just stale and pointless.

Tangent, but today I went through the Fort McHenry tunnel, and a woman in a black BMW SUV with Maryland tags stopped at the booth. Like.... Ma'am. You should know good and damn well by now that cash tolls are gone. The signage is clear. And you know you don't have an EZPass, so that means you should have taken the scenic route through the city or 695, tf. She looked dumb as hell. This was not a late model car, and those plates looked old like they have been around a long time.

That said... People should just get their EZPasses from other states. I have zero problems, and I'd rather deal with the NY EZPass customer service in Queens or on Long Island or wherever they are now than pretend to save money with Maryland and their ridiculous EZPass program. Like this MD EZPass drama has been going on for too long... Disgraceful. Smh

12+ years with NY EZPass program. Zero issues.

The city does not pay for the parade. It is put on by the community & business associations. Costs are covered through fund raising, donations, and volunteered time.
