Should have said five years but https://www.calstrs.com/retirement-benefits

As for federal employees, you are vested in your employer match after 3 years and you must work at least 5 years with the Federal Government before you are eligible for a FERS Federal Pension, and for every year you work, you will be eligible for at least 1% of your High-3 Average Salary History.

Normally when I hear pension, I expect it to begin at age 62, not while you are of working age. Maybe we have different expectations of the word.

The mini concrete bridge/dam over the water next Falls Road (after the falls), off the road between Hampden and Maryland Ave.

Not the overlook at the top of the hill; it's through some greenery and right overtop the water.

Also this thread idea is based.

for shoes, I find that properly fit/arched running shoes make the best hiking shoes. hiking-specific shoes or boots are typically for keeping water out but aren't really better for regular hiking as they can often be heavy and breathe poorly.

if they really aren't, the church should be fined hundreds of thousands of dollars for being a public nuisance because we all know that if they sold them, they would have been turned into apartments or homes and been salvaged decades ago. that is a high rent part of town and it's obvious they intentionally let them fall apart.

Great neighborhood. Good mix of young people, young families, and people who have been here forever. Safe and lively.

There are MANY great restaurants and bars. All the Latin food you could want; Mexican, Honduran, Salvadoran. America you got Sally Os and Snake. And tons of bar food options in Canton and Patterson Park Neighborhood.

Highlandtown is Ellewood on the west (at Patterson Park), Haven on the East, Pratt on the north, and Eastern on the south. People call other parts of the city Highlandtown, parts of Baltimore Highlands and Patterson Park.

Highly recommend going to alltrails.com on your computer or getting the (free) app for your phone. You can search for hikes by area, see what the difficulty level is, read reviews, see pictures, and get directions to the trailhead (which usually means where to park your car). The app lets you navigate the trail and (usually) keep yourself from getting lost/off trail.
