Quoting myself from another reply: >It was a donation from a parishioner, along with the second parking lot across from MedChi. There were initially hopes to be able to use the buildings for something, but the money wasn’t there and really hasn’t been there to be able to do anything substantial with them.
As for why accept… the church is not in the habit of turning down donations. They wouldn’t be able to survive if they were.

Always a fan of Johnny Rads but they have a tendency to be a tad floppy in the center, have to request well done.
A lot of “Jbgb’s” is overrated talk in here but I loved their pizza. Probably helped that I had no expectations going into it, however.
Like many have said, Hersh’s in fed is great. Definitely the better than Verde if you’re looking for an upscale dine in experience

FWIW, I love the scooters (wife took them to OB appointments back in 2019), I just thought it made a neat photo
I also remember around 2019 being willing to walk a a couple blocks to use a Spin or a Bird instead of a Lime because their fleet had bigger wheels and more powerful motors

What kind of money are they to get? I was a Balt County School teacher for a decade and only get $180/ month. I hope that a person who was city council person for a few years is not getting thousands/month. Seems like an over-reach for a job which has so many other perks.

Paulie gees doesn't do wood fired anymore. They have the ovens but haven't used them since the pandemic for some reason.

That's objectively stupid. What about the firefighters, whose share a pension with the police system? Should they be stripped of their earned benefits because you have a grudge against the BPD?

I'll be honest, I have a strong distaste for those scooters due to the way people pile them in bike lanes.
If people could be responsible then there wouldn't be an issue as far as I'm concerned.
Ok top of that, they could deal with people who park them improperly but they won't.

I think we might be next door neighbors
But I agree 100% with this sentiment, Highlandtown is awesome. Def one of the best areas to be in, not nearly as expensive as Canton, but the people are chill, way easier parking, more space.

This has been a cry spot since the 1904 Baltimore Fire when many watched the city burn from here.

they were definitely in fine condition for a long time. google photography shows they were not collapsed brick in the back until recently. someone probably sat on them, as Baltimore deadbeat homeowners do, hoping property values would go up. then they probably donated to make the tax write-off. the church was fine with just letting them collapse because the ~90k they've paid over the years is well worth it for a nice empty lot they can use to bring in more revenue for weddings.
