Many temp tags are expired, not attached to the correct vehicle, or outright falsified. The issue is not that BPD cannot enforce traffic rules. The issue is that BPD’s Vehicle Pursuit Policy (Policy 1503 PDF) only authorizes pursuits under certain strict conditions which a simple registration infraction does not meet. Many drivers know this and will simply not stop when they are lit up.

This is horrible, it’s actually embarrassing. Baltimore has some of the best cultural institutions in the world, (glad AVAM is acknowledged) we have a library that never fails to make the top 10 most beautiful list, the USS Constellation, I could go on & on. How about the totally unique Baltimore screen paintings & duckpin bowling?!

It might have started or spiked there, but I'd be surprised if abuse didn't account for at least half of the paper tags on the road at the moment. Regardless, if you see paper tags (especially expired ones) it's safest to assume the driver is uninsured.

if its running it's fine. emergency maintenance has been more frequent recently, there was an unannounced bus bridge yesterday. check mta's website for service alerts before you go. as far as safety, i've only had 1 incident in 5 years of riding multiple times a week.

>However that is a systemic issue and source of complaints about Maryland and Baltimore governments. That Gov't entities will work hard and promote for non-homegrown companies over growing local. Yes Guinness is just outside the city, but Heavy Seas is Maryland born and just down the street. Or why not Union Brewery, which is probably the largest brewery inside city limits.

Tourists they are trying to attract are not going to want to get this deep into it.

Make sure to take Mace along. Not for people, but as insurance for dog owner who let their pups wonder off leash while hiking. I've mostly met wonderfully socialized dogs while hiking. But I've also seen a handful of off leash dogs act aggressive try to start fights. If the dog owner cannot get their animal under control Mace might make the difference in walking back to your car unharmed or going to a hospital.

Also when hiking alone make sure you let a friend or family member know where you're hiking and what time you expect to get back. And then text them when your done. If they don't hear from you they can contact emergency personnel. Additionally check your battery level and cell phone service at the trailhead before going on a hike. You want to make sure you are receiving service if you're hiking alone.

A lot of people leave trail reviews online. Look up the trail you're interested in to see what other people's experiences are with it. Good luck!

Absolutely not a problem. Used to commute on it daily for like, 5 years.

Are you trying to get to the venue by 7/730 or the lightrail by then? Either way, i used to ride it around that hour from Timonium down to Baltimore street... no issues.

Oh, I did. And I've been on that Visit Baltimore brewery list page (where do you think I got my initial brewery count estimation?). And from a marketing stand point, I totally understand putting an internationally recognized brand on your promo materials.

However that is a systemic issue and source of complaints about Maryland and Baltimore governments. That Gov't entities will work hard and promote for non-homegrown companies over growing local. I'm happy Guinness is in Maryland. But all you need to do is rewind to when the Guinness tap room license exemption became public. The fall out from that really shows how antagonistic the govt is to local grown business. Especially if a lobby is (illogically) fearful of profit impact (distributors).
