I am surprised the UMB admin has not dug caves between the buildings as Peabody and other schools have done. Most are in snow areas of the country, so it makes more sense.

Insurance rates and practices are a scam more so now than ever. Insurance makes sense but when you're paying half as much or more for car insurance as you are for your car itself, it's too fucking expensive. And then when you need it it won't pay out. The insured party usually loses.

Businesses are not automatically members of Visit Baltimore, you have to pay dues. There's a sliding scale based on the size/volume of your business. Visit Baltimore will in turn occasionally utilize your services or products, and include you in advertising. If Union or Heavy Seas pays dues (which are far smaller than the dues that Guinness would be charged) they can be featured in advertising.

It's not political or some systemic plot, it's just business.

And my lord, that ad is embarassing. Even with my meager photoshop skills I can drop a background out.

The video evidence showed that the gates weren't all the way down.

>"On February 3, 2022, Anne Arundel Traffic Safety Investigators responded to the Maryland Mass Transit Administration Facility to review video footage from the above incident. During this review, it was learned the train entered the intersection while the roadway gates were in the process of lowering. Although the overhead alternating warning lights were functioning properly at the time of the crash, the roadway was not completely blocked by the gates when the crash occurred. Investigators are now also looking into the possibility of operator error on the part of the MTA train operator. The traffic Safety Section continues to investigate. Additional updates will be provided when available."

Tbh, I used to get really annoyed and think BPD was being lazy when they didn’t enforce traffic laws. But now it’s like…I suppose they really can’t. Seems like unless somebody just killed someone, they aren’t allowed ro chase them

Not simply a felon, but a felon where failure to immediately stop them poses an immediate threat of death or serious bodily harm.

>1. Members may pursue an eluding vehicle when:

>1.1. The vehicle contains a felony suspect and failure to immediately apprehend poses an immediate threat of death or serious bodily injury to the member or others; and

>1.2. Before the pursuit is initiated, there exists probable cause to believe the fleeing suspect committed a felony which resulted, or could have resulted, in death or serious bodily injury.

This means that even if the officer somehow knows an occupant is wanted on a felony warrant; they may not pursue them if the fleeing vehicle does not poses an immediate risk of harm.

We had a great experience with Patti Click and I always recommend her to people! I'm a woman and I did most of the organizing for our mortgage and she was always respectful of both of us. She also worked really hard with us to obtain lots of special grants and funding. It was a ton of extra work for her and she did it readily.

Nobody is arguing over why the Open Gate brewery was opened and whether it was specifically for the blond or not, so that's irrelevant. I also never argued that the photo isn't likely the nitro stout brewed in Ireland, so I don't know why you keep repeating that. I commented initially to claim that they brew far more than just the blond, including stouts.

You're welcome! I want to stress that neither charity nor Healthcare for the Homeless is "bad", and HCH is an essential service. It's the first place I would send someone who's homeless or about to be, it's a good point of entry and a gateway to other services. But... as I said, charity is not enough, and if you want to give, it would be great to also give towards really ending the problem.
