Reply to comment by _MyMomDressedMe_ in Baltimore City Board of Ethics says new pension bill presents conflict of interest by contra_account
But they can’t though. The pension is for elected office and they’re honestly not that many elected offices. Plus with this bill they can only run twice in 12 years. So essentially no one is getting a pension.
Again this is a horrible bill that will not solve the problem of corruption in Baltimore politics. Instead it will just make it worse.

Dream on. I grew up, just outside of DC. They think the sun rises and set in that town. Most DC area people are not from that area, so anything which happens outside of DC is off their radar as they are starry eyed about getting their pile of $$. They still are puzzled that Social Security Administration in just out side Baltimore, and at one time the regions IRS was in Baltimore. Most know Baltimore only as a name on I-95 highway sign, and a place which is about cops and robbers on TV.

So is he implying that it would be just if future elected council members changed the law since they would be subject to the 8-year term limit?

Reply to Trying to pay my EZPass tolls before midnight tonight, looking for some advice. by TherealScuba
On their website, you can put your tag number to find the tolls owed. Click on Find my tolls. Then click on the middle area Find my tolls link and make sure you type in the correct tag number of your vehicle. I hear today is the last day for discounts on their tolls.

Sounds unrealistically complicated and also involving several easily identifiable individuals and organizations that are guilty of receiving or possessing stolen goods -- but what do I know.

Or they could convert to a contributory plan with a match and vest immediately like many city governments do.

If you have an iPhone, download MagicPlan to do a drawing yourself if you’re willing. Use your camera to measure the area, then add the stairs and fence objects to it. I used it for my bathroom renovation permit.

Thanks for the advice. The meter reader’s picture would be a stronger case of the sign is in it.

This would be a stupid thing to say in any context, but it isn't even relevant here at all.

I recently contested a ticket and the court proceeding was over Zoom. This was as of August.
I was one of the last people in the docket so got to see a lot of other people's cases. Something like this, where there was a legitimate issue with the signage, the judge would throw out entirely.
Look at the picture the meter reader took (you should be able to view this online - check the instructions on the ticket) and it might show the sign, depending where your car was. If you contest the ticket, there's an opportunity to upload a picture, where you can put this photo too. The judge will look at the picture the meter reader sent along with any pictures you present.
Since there obviously is a sign, and it says something about parking, I can't say for certain that yours will definitely get thrown out. But the judge definitely did not like Baltimore City's parking enforcement and threw out a lot of tickets.
Basically anything that didn't have a legit excuse was reduced to $50 total with absolutely any excuse, including "oops, I didn't mean to". (Which was mine, TBF.) (Except handicapped parking issues because those are way more expensive.)

They probably get vested after 12. How much depends on service time and contributions, usually.
