I'm going to get an outdoor antenna and mount it onto the mast of an old DirecTV dish that's on my front roof. I should be able to pull in all of the local stations easily with that.

With my indoor antennas, it's hit-or-miss whether I'll be able to pick up the channel I want.

Yeah this is the answer. I was very confused by the pricing and number of tenders that you get, until I saw them. Still a little on the expensive side but they are enormous.

I'm very glad the towers are central in Baltimore. The last place I lived, the various towers were on opposite sides of the metro area, so I could never get half of the channels, even with a bigger "100 mile" roof mounted antenna.
