You're welcome. An update, in the link I see Bottoms Up Bagels (BUB) mentioned. Note they recently closed, reportedly due to issues related to the landlord.

I'm from New York and I definitely agree about the pizza! I also like Matthew's, Noona's, Joe Squared, etc. Joe Benny's has amazing foccacia as well.

I love ovenbird for the bread. Agree on the bagels, not a fan.

Warning about the bagels. They are great consistency but they burn the shit out of their seasoning. Get plain.
Also, the Cunninghams bread they sell at the wine source is great as well.

Time will tell. Millennials are in prime reproductive years and Gen Z is entering it - we'll see if they want that lawn mower culture.

The bread at MARTA in XXXXXXXX XXXX Maryland was the best I have ever eaten. They list the bakery in the first line of the menu. Before listing the food. Serious biz….

I love Jury Duty, but that probably has to do with the fact that I get paid. I get to sit around and play video games or read or people watch. Get to grab a drink or three at lunch and get cut loose at 3 or 4? Sign me the fuck up.

The rosemary bagels from Über are 🔥🔥🔥
Def not a NY bagel though. I agree with you on Goldberg’s

New Yorker here that moved to Baltimore City about a year ago— best bagels I’ve found thus far are at Goldberg’s on Reisterstown Rd. Easily. I also really liked the rosemary salt bagel at Über Bagels out in Timonium, but don’t know that I would compare it to a NY bagel. I did not enjoy THB.
As far as pizza goes, I personally don’t think you’ll find a cheap slice that’s truly comparable to a NY slice (idk if that’s what you’re looking for, but it’s my area of expertise). A lot of people in this sub mention places like Tutti Gusti, Pasta Mista, and Ribaldi’s in Hampden for the classic “bad but SO good” type pizza. I honestly think the best way to approach pizza here is to embrace artisanal. Arthouse, Birroteca, and Paulie Gee’s have some of the best pizzas I’ve had in the city.
Honorable mentions to Angeli’s and Zella’s.
I would search the sub for this question though, as it’s been answered many a time. Happy eating, my friend. :)

Trinacria has delicious olive bread! Haven’t been there since the pandemic, sadly, so can’t vouch for if they still make it

Fair enough!
And yeah, renter's insurance is absurdly cheap. I've even thought about getting it as a homeowner so I could cover theft or other losses without hitting my homeowner's insurance, and I was gonna look into whether I could get coverage without being a renter, and then I forgot, and then years go by 🤷 But now I'm thinking about it again.

Reply to comment by S-Kunst in U.S. hospitals are required to publish their prices for medical procedures now, so my friends and I collected around 2 million prices from 33 hospitals in Maryland and created a search engine where anyone can see how much they may be charged. Because they're both cases where people largely aren't spending their own money.
For healthcare, the vast majority of people have health insurance and only care about their copay.
For higher education, the open spigot of government guaranteed loans ensures tuition and costs will grow to match the available funds.
