How often do you peek at the end?

I have a friend who will occasionally peek at the end of a book if they really like the characters and feel emotionally invested, just to make sure the ending isn’t too soul crushing.

I find this concept horrible. Out of thousands of books I have never jumped to the end. I find the concept almost inconceivable, and I do know what that word means. It just feels fundamentally wrong in a way I can’t articulate.

Help me here. My fried is a total nut job, right?
