We've all read about the Roald Dahl updates in the UK, the backlash, the reaction, etc. It reminded me that the Hardy Boys series went through some major updates (more consequential than what I've read about the Dahl updates) due to racism in the original texts. Richard Scarry's picture books received updates to make sure that all characters were seen helping out in the kitchen, having jobs, etc. - a change that I thought was a positive one. Are there other examples of children's books or series that went through revisions without much pushback?
