I'm currently finishing up Circe by Madeline Miller and I just visited the National Gallery of art in Washington DC. I turned a corner and ran into a painting called Circe and Her Lovers in a Landscape by Dossi Battista. I realized that I know all this detail about this niche of greek mythology, the witch of Aiaia, exiled daughter of the titan sun god Helios, who transformed men into animals. It made that painting stand out from the rest.
I'll definitely be reading the rest of her works.
