My first Stephen King novel

I just finished Pet Semetary, which was my first time reading a Stephen King novel, and can I just say that that book was so much more disturbing than I thought it would be. I was expecting an exciting, spooky book about dead pets coming back to life, but the actual main storyline is so much scarier. It was very well written and a great book, but it effected me more than I though it would. I’m currently reading The Shining, but I’ve seen the movie so hopefully I’ll be more prepared going into this book.
