I'm really curious as to what you guys think!

I was browsing my bookshelves with the daunting task of trimming down the number of books we own, and had an interesting time looking at my old favorites. Many of them would be considered questionable by today's standards, and I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Books that aged well:

-Georgette Heyer's mysteries

-John Scalzi's Old Man's War series. I realize his aren't that old, but I find they aged a lot better than say, Joe Haldeman.

ETA Someone brought up an excellent point that these books were written 30 years apart, so this isn't a fair comparison. I just read and loved them in the same period of my life lol.

-anything by Stephen King

Books that aged poorly:

  • the little grey rabbit books by Alison Uttley

-These Old Shades by Georgette Heyer (that age gap is yikes).

-Jim Butcher's Dresden Files books seem unbearably sexist now. Is it me, or is it the times?
