I picked this up after seeing it mentioned quite a few times as some people's favourite book. I like fantasy but haven't read it since I was a teenager, (39 now), and I am a big fan of Patrick Rothfuss in general, thanks to his involvement with Acq Inc.
The book was, in every way, mediocre. Cliché story, average writing at best, and largely forgettable characters. It's mostly just Magic Guy at Magic School, which we've all read a number of times now.
What's with the hype? What am I missing? I've got the next one but someone give me a reason to bother.
