“What? You’ve never read…????”

What books or authors have you never read that people would or have been surprised by? Have you ever been confronted with surprise by others at books you’ve skipped or entire ouevres you were unaware of?

For me, standouts I’ve never read at all are Ursula K Le Guin, Agatha Christie, Arthur Conan Doyle, and Melville. I somehow managed never to read more than a few pages of Moby Dick despite its several times being assigned through HS and college.
