Hi everybody! Happy new year!

I read 20-30 fiction books a year and today I was looking through my last year's list of books I've read and realised that out of those books there is only 2 that I enjoyed reading all the way. What I mean is: I really wanted to read them everyday; I couldn't wait to find out what's going to happen next; I had that feeling where you forget you are reading and than half an hour later you realise you just went deep into another world. I like to call those books (I don't know if this translates well in English) ,,Books with possibility to become your best book ever". Other books from the list (maybe like 15 or so of those I've read) It's not that I didn't enjoy reading (cause I love new stories) but there were moments where I struggled to continue reading or I was bored and on some days I just wish I didn't pick them up and on some days I really enjoyed them which kept me going for a few days. Now, those remaining books of the list I was bored the whole time (and I don't count first 50-100 pages where you let the book grip you).

Here's a thing about me - I don't like quiting books and I rarely do it because I just feel bad about it and like I didn't accomplish anything.

Sorry for the long explanation!

My question for people who read a lot is - Do you have the same problems (because in my mind I always taught that's the way it is supposed to be)? Also did you find a way to fix it over the years? And what's the way that you choose new books you want to read?
