Some of the ideas in this book are amazing, as well as some of the issues seeming relevant in the future (but I don't know that). Jimmy is a gross but still very human protagonist and the presence of Crake on a page just makes me excited because he's such an interesting character. Is it mainly just overshadowed by The Handmaids Tale? I haven't personally read it actually even though I know it's Margaret Atwoods most recognized work. I'm a bit more than halfway through, and will probably read the sequels, but I had only heard of this from a recommendation where someone said it was their favorite, and never heard anyone mention it outside of that.
