In this context, I mean 'white whale' as in something you want to read but haven't been able to for whatever reason. Maybe there's only 2 copies of the book in existence, or maybe you've started it many times but have never made it through, or whatever. What book is it, and why are you having issues with it? Or conversely, share your successes about the time you caught that whale!
Mine is Shake Hands with the Devil by Roméo Dallaire. I've tried to read it 3 times but I keep forgetting who is who with which organization and what they say their aims are versus what they're doing in reality. I've come to realize this is a book I need to take notes on while I read. I don't usually like doing that, but I want to get through this book so badly that I'm willing to make the sacrifice.
