I know lots of people read The Outsiders in high school, but I didn't and so decided recently to pick it up. I finished it last night, and there was a few pages at the end where the author was being interviewed.
She was only 15 when she started to write the story, 16 when she finished! Wow. What an incredibly deep story to come from someone who's not even a full adult yet.
So that got me thinking... what other amazing books have been written by young authors? I think Mary Shelley was only 19 when she wrote Frankenstein, which is pretty mind blowing.
Anyone else have ideas/titles to add?
