I usually have nothing against basic romance tropes, they’re just repetitive and I find them humorous rather than romantic if anything.
And by romance tropes I mean like enemies to lovers, love triangles, and even other things like common dialogue or mannerisms that are always written to occur between two love interests.
I for one can’t take the stuck/trapped together one seriously, I feel like the story always tends to go the same way and it’s like what’s the point then.
I also can’t take the secret billionaire or ceo trope, I just laugh. Like the previous trope mentioned, when that becomes the main personality trait of the love interest, you’ve lost me.
No hate to basic romance tropes!! I just find them funny is all, but I will admit sometimes they can be very well done, other times not so much.
