Just finished "Rude Awakenings from Sleeping Rough", written by guy who experienced long-term homelessness in London because of a government clerical error and who was then screwed over by the agencies who were supposed to help him.
I have to say that I now can't walk by someone sleeping in the street without the desire to help them, or at least talk to them. 99.99% of these human beings have stories that will never be known. I don' think that any recent book that I've read has had such a profound impact on me.
