I’m just about to publish a book. There is a concept called “Library price” where you can make up your book when a Library purchases it. So let’s say I sell my book for 9.99 on iBooks but I can charge 20.99 to sell to a library. The issue is that the library may only buy one copy. Your best bet and the best way to support the author is still to buy the digital book as printed books have a cost associated with them (printing, binding, etc) and the margins are much lower. Hope this helps.

I love second hand book stores, but it can be hard when they dont have all their stuff on the shelves and you have to go ask, especially when youre me and you go with lists of books youre looking for, or the books you want are super weird lol. Like its not always the most fun asking for 10 books all the do with forensic pathology, death, and murder, and not look like youre planning something.

The methods and ideas discussed in such books are not scientific.

Good taste, e Pretty much everything is eternal classics with surprising amount of Russian classical authors. Also not surprised by the lack of new books, 4chan does not believe modern authors being able to write anything worthy.

I just pretend that he is still "Father" in "Beauty and the Beast" and is reading to the children who live underground.
Pronouncing "Petyr" as "Pet-Tire" for Lord Baelish was off-putting.

I wrote an urban fantasy book like that for a class. The chick and dude were roommates, and they loved each other like best friends. Writing prof docked my grade because there was no romance in the book. The FMC literally summoned devils to save her roommate but because they weren’t boinking, I lost a letter grade.

You’re welcome! I’m a bit biased as I’ve loved the Sandman for years, but I’ve known others who had only listened to the audible and adored them

Thank you for saying my curiosity! I’m hit or miss with Gaiman, but it sounds interesting and I think I’ll definitely listen to a preview or two. Thanks!

Super job! My siblings can't believe I reread books. There's a number of them I go over for the experience and sometimes more clarification.

Kind of a bit of both. Neil Gaiman voices a “narrator” with the characters each being voiced by different actors. So Gaiman fills in the gaps that would be left empty without panels.
Listen to some of the previews, or check out the first few series and then listen to volume 1 after. It’s truly incredible how they added another layer to an already amazing piece of work.

I’ve been idly curious about this since seeing it on audible… how do you make a comic into an audiobook? Do they describe the panels? Is extra stuff added to explain bits that you’ll miss by not seeing them? How does it work??

The great thing about books (or movies or TV shows) is that you can always go back. And the characters will always live for you again.

It's also (often) not internally consistent. If you've got a sword & sorcery story where everyone has some sort of power, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense for your female characters to be vulnerable damsels.
I know ASOIAF isn't really the best example as a whole, but the bits with the free folk beyond the wall hit the contradiction pretty well, since the women are warriors as well. There's a bit from Tormund, I think, saying that someone "can own a knife or a woman but not both." And fantasy forgets that all the time. Your characters have fucking superpowers, dude. An armed society might not always be a polite society, but the "impolite" people are gonna be short lived.
