Both of mine passed away last year. Two weeks apart. So at this point none. I am trying to persuade a feral mama kitty to let me catnap her, though.

If you can access the BBC series “Poirot” I absolutely love it, it was my introduction to Hercule Poirot, and I think it makes reading her Poirot books very enjoyable.

And it's sad with Kanye cause his mother headed the MFA program at a college in Chicago and had a PhD in black literature

I loveee poirot and David Suchet who plays him, but I agree with you that Marple stories are more complex, more so coz she isn’t always present there like Poirot is? I absolutely love Mirror Cracked, Nemesis, 4:50 from Paddington, Sleeping beauty to name a few

Reply to How do you read non fiction books? by Retep_Rup
It all depends on why I am reading a non-fiction book. I much prefer a good fiction since I am not longer reading for school.
There was a time when I read a lot about finance. I had to make some decisions at work regarding benefits and I wanted to be well informed. I used the old yellow marker in those books. They belonged to me and I still occasionally check them out.
I went years without reading non-fiction and then my daughter suggested Quiet:: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't stop Talking by Susan Cain. I got it in audiobook and just loved it. I've known for years I was an introvert and suspected as much about my son. I could see us both in places in that book.

I never use the recommendations module.
Things GoodReads is good for:
- Tracking reading progress
- Researching books to read and reading others reviews
- Reviewing books you read
- GIVEAWAYS, GIVEAWAYS, GIVEAWAYS

Yeah that sounds perfectly put.
How many cats do you have if I may ask?

It is more like, if certain things are an automatic 'no' for you, people for whom it is also an automatic 'no' will mention them in reviews.
But also shared hatred. It is cathartic to dislike a book and see your GR buddy write a scathing review.

The only way I can take in non fiction is to download the audible version and listen to it. If I read it it takes forever and I don't remember any of it.

Great books. Read them all in 2021. The last one was the weakest, but it was mainly cause I didn't care for the, at times, American setting. Also I was hoping for more Mencho stuff.
La barbie/narco polo(did they call him Eddie in the books?) Is such a mystery to me. Almost did my masters thesis in criminology on him. Considering he doesn't really fit the bill on most(if any) criminology theories.

In a typical office setup it actually makes a ton of sense to put your bookcase behind you. It's out of the way but easily accessible. For example, my office at work has my bookcase immediately behind me and it's full of the code books and legal reference guides and project binders etc.
I don't have a dedicated room for a home office, but if I did I'd set it up the same way.

You are very welcome. Hope you find some good friends. :)
I personally recommend you look up reviews for books you disliked and find other people that also disliked them. Works better for finding new worthy reads.

Have you looked into dyspraxia? People with dyspraxia can sometimes struggle with reading and may take longer to understand the text. It helps to read slower and then reflect on it in steps rather than reading and trying to make sense of it at the same time.
