Moving Architecture is available through used book websites. If your libraries don't have these perhaps you are able to review them through interlibrary loans.

Can these people behind these bans go out and read a book for once. Cause I'm certain the overwhelming majority of them haven't touched a book in years.

Apologies, but your post does not contain enough for people to engage in conversation. Do you have something else to say about the book that you could edit into the text? Let me know if you edit it and I will reinstate your post.
Or, if you would prefer to share quick/brief reactions to a book you are currently reading or recently finished, you can comment in our weekly What We're Reading thread, accessible from our header atop the sub. Your book may even appear in the sub banner! Thank you.

That sounds very similar to notes from underground which people seem to compliment a lot

I had the same thing happen (with a different brand of ereader). There's just something nice about having books so easily available, as someone who used to live out in the sticks with no libraries available to them with any real frequency, not to mention the usefulness of the built-in dictionaries when reading stuff in foreign languages.

Same! Stopped reading for so long and randomly bought Earthlings by Sayaka Murata, finished it extremely fast and dove straight into im thinking of ending things (not my favorite) now I’m reading Bunny. It’s so exciting to get into an old hobby again!

That's not the point of the novel or of any of Hesse's works, really. Try to finish the novel. If you still don't understand it, look up an anaylsis of the work.

I really don’t think that was Joyce’s motivation. He was just having fun. And in fact Finnegan’s Wake did not initially earn good reviews, even from critics who loved Ulysses.

>I believe him, the man was a genius. But I’m this case he was so devious that very few people can fully appreciate his genius.
The thing is that a genius writing a book to let the world know how much of a genius he is doesn't do much good to anyone other than their ego.
Hugo, Dickens, Twain, the russians, they were all geniuses.

>Fuck if I know. I didn't understand it. I understood parts, and many of the words, and even whole sentences, but I had no idea what was happening. There isn't a story, or a plot, it's just...lots of words. a guy goes to a museum, Finnegan dies from falling off a ladder, a guy gets arrested or beaten up in a park by soldiers, there's a battle, lots of nautical and ships on sea stuff, there's a story of a grasshopper and an ant, there's a question and answer type play.....these are some of the things i "understood." It's like listening to a radio in the mountains with bad reception and constantly changing the channels, you get bits and pieces here and there, a word or phrase here and there, but nothing overall coherent.
That's EXACTLY what it felt like reading Ulysses, or rather half of it until I gave up.
The funny thing is that there were parts in the book that were very clever, like a scene in a newspaper (iirc) presented in articles or some wonderful prose, that was classic in quality.
And then the rest of the book is just ...stuff to test how annoyed you can get but keep on reading.

I'm not too picky about location. Wild takes place on the PCT and John muir's writings are mostly northwest focused. It's more about the feeling of being in nature I guess. The vibe not necessarily the location.

I don't think that this is the book, but When She Returned by Lucinda Berry has a similar plot to the novel that you're looking for.

ooooOOOooo I actually wrote that one down for this trip almost a year ago and then completely forgot about it! Great reminder! I will definitely be adding and will probably do that one on audiobook while I'm hiking.

There is a book about a couple where the wife goes missing and the wife realizes that she is not the same as before she left. It is called 'Our Wives Under the Sea'
