I've been waiting for Karen Miller's second book in The Tarnished Crown series for years. I'm guessing she maybe has writer's block? It's a shame because the first one is absolutely amazing and her best work so far.

One day, maybe.

It’s more like the Internet Library tried to give out digital copies during Covid Lockdowns, didn’t go through the proper procedures to do that, then had authors who weren’t getting any benefit from unlimited digital rentals on Internet Library, those authors raise a stink then the publishers decide to get litigious.

Lmao, that would mess me up so bad. I would never find anything on my bookshelves. but it’s hilarious imagining the really trashy stuff bound so elegantly.

Since you don’t like most stuff, is there a book cover design you DO like that isn’t just a plain cover? I find leather bound with pressed foil or engraved designs can be really elegant. I love that look for historical nonfiction.

my kids love reading and I love that they love reading!! continue to foster his love of books! right now one of my kids (a teen) is reading one of my favourite books ever and I couldn't be more overjoyed. I so badly want to talk about it but she's not at the good part yet.

In general questioning assumption about what makes good reading. implicit rules and such.
Like, check if you think giving up on books, skipping paragraphs, reading several books at the same time, getting spoiled
I think all of those are frowned upon sometimes when they actually can help you stick with the habit.

There's also this book you can check out if you want to get more out of your reading (how to read a book, Goodreads). It might be a bit elitist but there's a few tools that are interesting to think about.

I’d stick to the websites of reputable institutions. For example, if you want diet advice, try the American Heart Association’s website. That will summarize the current state of the research in a format accessible to the general population.

Anyone writing books is making a living by selling something.
