How can anybody afford to live here?

I am sitting here, dangerously close to becoming homeless, wondering if it is even possible to be able to afford living. It seems like no matter how many hours I work, how much I limit my spending, how much debt I put myself in, no matter how much I beg, borrow and steal, I will always be unable to afford either staying here or leaving. There are so many people in my life in this same predicament. Housing is absolutely inaccessible for poor people. It is so demoralizing, I just don't know what to do anymore. Any input from others who are struggling would be appreciated.
