It used to be that landlords offered a service. They would own and maintain extra properties and charge a reasonable fee over their costs to allow people who weren’t ready to own to have a home. Now it’s turned into this insane free for all where everyone with money has bought “investment property” to where it makes it so almost every cheap condo for sale is bought all “cash” by a rich person denying the dream of home ownership to an entire generation of Bostonians.
And the people driving the bus are parasitic realtors and property managers who provide “free” management and tenant location services to these landlords by fleecing the tenants. The poorest Bostonians are not being treated as profit centers by the richest.
And the city makes it worse and worse. Want to build a giant tower of luxury apartments? Go right ahead, the city will close down all but one lane of I90 every night for a year to build the foundation for you. Want to make affordable housing for families in our laughable underdeveloped inner-ring suburbs? NIMBY!!!
If you’re a “landlord” who never finds your own tenants and yet refuses to pay even half of the fee to the realtors who do it for you then YOU are turning this once lovely city into another Manhattan, just a playground for the heavily subsidized children of the world’s super rich. And FOR SHAME!!!!!
